Cocoanut Orange Cookies
- Radio Recipe - Mary Ellis Ames 2/1936
Makes about 5 dozen Temp. 400o F - 10 min.
Sift together 1 3/4 c. cake flour 2 1/2 tsp. bak. powder 1/2 " salt 1 " cinnamon
Add 1 c milk and (Cream together) 1/2 c shortening 1 c sugar 2 well beaten eggs 1 tsp. vanilla 3/4 c. cocoanut 4 T orange juice grated rind 1 orange Roll:

Glorified Pineapple Short Cake (Radio Recipe)
1 c sugar 2 t cornstarch (?) 1/4 t salt 2 eggs separated
Add beaten egg yolks Grated rind + juice 1 orange 1 c crushed pineapple 1 c boiling water Cook in double boiler Cool -
Cut squares of short cake dough to 1/2 in thickness and bake - Cool -
Place on top layer of pineapple mixture + cover with meringue - Bake -

Short Cake + Fresh Peaches (Radio Recipe - Betty Crocker) Blue Ridge Mts.
Use bisquick for pastry. Mix enough cream to make amt. required. Follow directions on box.
Roll to about 1/3 in. Dot with butter and fold over again - Cut into desired rounds + bake. Cover with peeled + sugared peaches Top with whipped cream.
Sauce (new) Cream 1/4 c butter Add grad. 1 c. powdered sugar add 1 egg well beaten Add 1/4 juice from peaches and beat until puffy and just before serving add 2 T finely minced fresh mint 1 t sugar Note: Let sugar + minced mint stand for hour before serving - serves 6 or 8 Lou Bell Harris
