At a called meeting of the vestry of St: John's Church
held in the Office of the Old Dominion Steamship Company
on the 5th day of June, 1891.
Present Messrs James W. Shield, Cyrus Bossieux, John F.
Mayer, Jos R. Roane, G.G. Minor, George L. Carrie
B.F. Howard and George K. Taylor.
The following resolution was adopted
"Resolved that the Rector be authorized have a
collection taken up, at the morning and evening
services to be held in the Church on the 10- of June
1891; to be appropriated for the mission work
of this (St John's) Parish, and that notice be given of it.
On motion the meeting adjourned.

There was a meeting of the vestry called in the
Brick Chapel on Tuesday June 30 1891.
There were present Rev: L.W. Burton, Rector and
Messrs John F. Mayer, Jos R. Roane, Tho. S. Macon
B.F. Howard and George K. Taylor_ there not beng
a quorum, no meeting was held

the Brick Chapel on Tuesday September 1, 1891.
Present:- Rev L. W. Burston, Rector, presiding, and
Messrs James W. Shields, Richmond L. Brown, John
F, Mayer, Joseph R. Roane, George L. Carrie,
Benjamin F. Howard and George K. Taylor
The meeting was opened with prayer; the minutes of
the last two meetings were read and approved.
There was presented to the Church on behalf of
Mr. Joseph W, Johnston a Bible and Prayer book
