I beg to report herein
the exault of my inspection of [?]

'Fish-pass' [?] there for the purpose of
carrying fish over that chasm/dam.

The [?] river is a large stream and flows through
an [?] [?] of the Country,
with several branches, and enters
Lake Huron at the own of Southhampton.
About three miles above its entrance
into the [?], a dam has been [?]
[?] the river [?] twice ahead of [?]
for driving a flouring mill :- this
dam proves a sufficient barrier with [which?]
prevent many of the fish from passing
up river to their [?excessive] feeding,
and breeding points on the {?Massi}
river, and many of its branches -

This dam is known as "[Derevier?] dam" and forms [?---utations] made
to your Department [?] years back
