A Cordiall for Aroom and a pertos
Take of clary & plantine of each an handfull of rose
=mary flowers Bottony flowers of each 2 [pr]gills boil
ym in A quart of Ale unto A pint & then strain
it. Take 1/2 A pint of ye [pits] of an Ox back washed
clean from ye blood & 1/2 A pint of ye Kirnells of
Hassell nutts beat ym togather in A stone mortar

For A Burstting either in young or old
Take Knotwort, comfray & Ribwort, of each like
Quantity, wash ym & dry ym in an Oven after
The bread is newly drawn & being well dry'd beat
ym to powder then serce ym in A searcer & what
quantity you take of ye herbs when they are
dry [you ]take 1/2 soe much Annaseeds & beat ym wth
ye powder of ye of sd herbs, searsing ym togather when
you would use it take soe much of this powder as you
can lay upon 6 pence & drink it fasting in A
little malmesey 10 morneings togahter annointing
ye griefe first wth A little oyle of [strike] mingl'd
with some sweet butt.r unwasht Then take of
ye hearbs as afforesaid (being first sodden in fair
runing water till they be [tend.r]) and wring ye water
clean out & soe apply ym to ye graeaved place as
hott as may bee suffer'd & tye ym so wth A trusse,
but lett not ye trusse be so stroight for yt will
make it [send] further these herbs must be gathrd
in May for yn the use in their chief strength
This hath been approved upon children soe borne
and upon aged people yt hath been 14 years broken
The Knot wost growth in ye feilds & hath a little
watchett flower & two little [stings] growing togathr
of ye biggness of A pins head, out of ye joints
their of. The patient must [lye] one hour upright
on his back, after ye drinking of ye said powders
and after ye trussing.
