and laundry O.K. Everythings all right as far as I know. If it isn't I'll send it back with my laundry. The shirts which you brought up were sure done up good. That's just about all I can think of now. I began this letter yesterday and it seems as if I had a lot more to day but I can't think of it now. It's been raining hard all day and it sure is wet out. We aren't having athletics and I'm going to try to write some letters.

P.S. – I'm sending along a football schedule which I got up here. It might come in handy.

Dear Dad & Mother:

I started to write to you yesterday afternoon but it was too nice a day to stay inside so I went out and played a little tennis with "Pete". It was the first time I had played since I broke my arm and I wasn't so hot. Never the less we had some fun. It didn't hurt my arm any except on a couple backhand shots. Afterwards, it began to get stiff and sore but it dadn't last long.

I received your letters and checks all right. I was glad to get the clippings and I wish you would continue to send along anything that might interest me. Richard has sent me two letters so far; the last one arrived to-day. If you care to see the letters tell me so and I'll send them along.

My studies are coming along good. It seems that the only time I have to do much

studying is just before a test. I can't seem to figure out yet just how I do all my studying in the time I spend on it. We had a history test last Friday, in which I got an 88, the second or third highest in the class, I think. Bob didn't do so well with a flat 60. The physics test which I told you about was marked on a basis of 85 because I didn't do any extra work. Those who were trying for high honor grades by doing extra work had a slightly different test and were marked on a basis of 100. I figured it would be better to learn the minimum requirement well than do extra work and not know much about it.

During this last week the weather has gone from one extreme to the other. Tuesday, Wed., and Thursday it rained all day; it didn't stop once during those three days. At times Tuesday & Wednesday it rained harder and blew harder than, I think, I have ever seen. Thursday it

turned to a cold, fine drizzle and continued all day. It cleared up Friday and since then we have had perfect autumn weather, cool, and crisp, and clear.

Saturday the B.U. freshmen came up here and took a beating at the hands of Andover, 20-0. It was a dandy game and a perfect day for it. There were a lot of passes by both teams. B.U. had a lot of pass plays that worked time and time again but they couldn't seem to get anythere with them. Their line was weak and Andover gained consistently through it. The last touchdown was made from Andover's 40 yd line on two long passes. We had been penalized and had about 35 yds to go for a first down. One long pass failed. Then the same play was repeated on the opposite side,

the end unfortunately stepping out of bounds as he caught it but he it made it made about 30 yds. The next play was a repetition of the first pass. The end caught it on the 10 yd. line, dove, and made a perfect three point landing over the goal.

Out soccer team is coming along pretty good. We won a hard fought game to-day and tied one Friday putting making us tied for 1st place. The Friday game was played on a muddy field and everyone sure was a mess when he got through. I played a cricket game with Al Richardson, a fellow who has lived in England most of his life, Sunday night or at least he showed me how to play. Al cleared up a lot of funny ideas I had about cricket.

I broke my record of not breaking any dishes last week where I broke a bowl and a dessert dish. Some of the waiters break dishes consistently and one has a habit of dropping milk bottles without breaking them. The milk runs all over the floor but the bottle doesn't break. I played the piano for an hour & a half steady last Saturday. I had seen the picture so I went over to Peabody & practiced.

Rocky.

Dear Dad and Mother:

I'm a little late in writing this but I didn't have a chance yesterday Sunday. In the afternoon about 16 fellows from the American History classes went into Boston with Mr. Freeman to see some of the historic places connected with the history we are now studying. We visited Bunker Hill, the old South Church, [Lanuel?] [Faneuil] Hall, the old state house, the old North Church & places in between. I got my first glimpse of old Boston and the things I have heard and read about Boston streets being narrow and crooked are sure true. We came back by way
