Dear Dad and Mother:

We got back O.K. last Sunday just in time for Chapel. We didn't start until 2:00 and would have gotten here sooner if we hadn't taken a rather slow way around the suburbs of Boston. The bathrobe you sent suits me fine and will save my other one a lot.

I have been working terribly hard the last few days for a physics test which I had yesterday. I guess I came out fairly well. I am looking forward with much fear and trepidation to an English test on "Paradise Lost" next Thursday. I'll have to spend all my spare time between now and then working on it. I cut my first class, Geometry, yesterday with good reason.

It's snowing out now and it looks as if it weren't going to stop. There's about 14 or 15 inches already and the skiing prospects are bright. Yesterday was quite a tough day for Andover in athletics. We lost the basketball game and the swimming meet by one point, lost all except one wrestling match, and tied the track meet. All the contests were with Harvard teams. Furse broke the school

in the 600. He's some runner.

I got a letter from Leland during the week asking me to tutor Ray. I haven't decided yet whether I have the time or not. I might be able to work in a couple hours a week with him.

I hope John hasn't got scarlet fever. Give him my regards. There are a few cases of mumps here now. I don't know whether or not the bug will spread. That's all for now. I've got to go over for dinner in a minute

P.S. — send me some of those ties when you get a chance.

Dear Mother & Dad:

We've had some pretty bad weather up here for the last week. It has snowed some everyday except yesterday. We had about 15 inches Sunday, but after that it got warmer and the snow coming down was wet and soggy. We sure had a lot of slush towards the end of the week.

I've been pretty busy lately studying for exams. I've had three and have [one?] in history coming sometime this week. Got 95 on the physics exam.

after this week I'll have a short let up until the finals, which aren't very far away

I went out for baseball in the cage Wednesday and again Saturday. We only had a little batting practice, and I did pretty well in that. I may get on the squad if I'm lucky.

We won the basketball game and swimming meet yesterday, but lost to Taft in wrestling. I had never seen a wrestling match before coming up here, and find them very interesting. We were behind at the beginning of the last match and needed a fall to tie. Their

heavyweight man must have weighed 200 and didn't know a thing about wrestling so it seems. Dan Lewis only weighed about 175 and although Danny got all kinds of holds on him, he almo always managed to crawl to the edge of the mat before being put down. The Taft man didn't put up any fight at all; he just stayed on the bottom and lost by a time advantage. It showed poor spirit, but won the match for Taft.

Got a letter from Richard during the week. He didn't say much of any thing you'd be interested in, but
