walk. Taylor Hall made a feeble attempt to get it Wednesday. There was a shout and, in less than a minutes, there were fifty or sixty fellows out in front. Mr. [Barro?] got there ahead of us, however, and sent the invaders home before we got a chance at them. We're expecting more invasions in the future
There isn't much more to say. We got over the effects of Rogers Hall all right and everything's running on an even keel again. We're hoping for a return dance with them in January. So long, if you don't see me Wed, you'll see me Thursday, which reminds me that, if we had some ham we could have some ham and eggs if we had some eggs.

Dear Dad:
I didn't think it would happen, but it did. I caught cold last Wed, Thursday I had a cough, Friday my nose ran all day, and Sat I came into the infirmary with a slight temp. (99.2) & a sore throat. To-day my temp. is normal and I think I'll get out sometime tomorrow. I had my cold fixed up two or three times and I thouhgt it would be all right, but fate or something was against me. Ray is getting out of here to-night and Norm just came in this noon. The infirmary & the upper floor of Peabody House have been pretty well filled for some time now. We are treated pretty well in here. There are eight other fellows in the ward with me. Two others got out this morning. We live a life of leizure [leisure], eating, sleeping, and reading. Not in frequent discussions range from the diseases of [horses?] to religion. My throat has been to [too] sore to take active part in these discussions. Nobody gets any work done, but everybody worries about how he is going to make up his work. The food is fair, the quarters are comfortable, and the service very good. We get refreshments at 10:00, 3:00, & 8:00, our beds are made two or three times daily, & back rubs 3 times daily. It's a good place for a rest.

Andover played [text covered by tape] of the season to-day [text covered by tape] : Andover 29, Harvard -53. One Andover first string man was out sick. Another one was out sick after the game. The rest of the contests were called off for various reasons.
I was asked over to Miss. Uye's room last Friday to meet the members of A.U.V. I knew most of them before. They are darn good fellows. Can you afford to let me join if I should get a pledge? I don't know how much it costs but you probably have some idea. That's all I have to say now. I'll drop you a card in a day or so.

Tuesday Dad - I got out of the infirmary to day. Temp. normal since Sunday. If you get any bill, let me see it before you pay. Was over at Peabody House once Sunday morning. Played the piano some. Received your letter. Am saving papers. Nothing except the [illegible] & book reports of any use. Norm & I are going to get to-gether when he gets better. They did most of the talking (about nothing) over at the "tea party." Don't know what they thought of me. Met one of them who wasn't there over at the infirmary. Rock
