Dear Sister, The penny-post begins again today by ???? so be sure i direct your letters to Phillips Academy + in the left hand lower corner put L.C.4.3 which means Latin Commons 4th House 3rd room. It will save him some trouble if you put it on. Yesterday morning on looking in the glass I found that my tongue was covered with a white ???. I think they say it is a sign of ??? although I do not know what it means. I am enjoying excellent health although many of the boys are sick with ???- headache + some have the ??? + Frank Pierce has been ill the last two days ??? of his bed he is a little better now. Tell Mother Where did you get the envelope that you sent your last letter in, it is a funny shape. ???

telegraphs that I will tele-rpaper??? her if I get sick at all [inserted between lines] af???? I write tell her I have enough money to last til vacatin[vacation] as we dont have to pay our board until the end of the term. She says if I am unwell to keep quiet on the bed which I cannot do because one absence would put me behing my class & I could not catch up afterwards. But I will let her know if I am unwell on Friday night a new midder (boy of th emiddle class) was taken blindloded & tied tossed in a carpet which broke 1st?? toes & he fell to the ground . His head was afterwards rubbed with aesafoetdita, lamp oil & burgamot(I think). On saturday he went to lawrence & had his hair cut(25cts) & shampooned(25cts) besice hid face both ways(20cts) total cost 70cts. On sunday my hat was taken, lining taken out, band torn off & torn partly the hat turned inside out & had rolled up & tied by the band & dropped on the window lege below. The hat looks more roudyish?? than ever. It will cost $150 to go to boston to get a new one. I am going to try to get one at lawrence fare there & back(20cts)

I want Mother to write Mr. Taylor + ask him to let me go to some other church in the afternoons for it is so disagreeable to sit on pews straight backed + no cushions no hymn books no ??? no carpet + to hear old day discourses from the Theo.
