Dear Mother, Thinking that I must certainly have a letter by this time I applied to the P. O & received yours dated (1) Aug. 29 with Exp. receipt for trunk (Expressage paid $3.50) (2) Aug. 30 with check of $25.00 all safe although it had been in the office 4 days. (3) Aug. 31 from Alice & you with medicine. I do not know what the medicine is for but I will take it Aug. 31 from Mrs Seymour stating that Edward was coming on Monday he got here last night & I got the letter today. Your letters to answer keeps me busy (1) You did not try the chintz cover on the trunk for it is about 2 inches too narrow I can make it fit however.--I replied about money in another letter--I will need about $4 per week on an average I will write when I want money. Money will be perfectly safe

Sept 5, 65 (2) if you could have smelt it as I did when I entered the door, your mouth would have watered. Ask Mr. Colkin to let you see letter I wrote him as I cannot send you a copy I have not time. What you call napkins I thought were old ones for my nose I will look again. I have no napkin ring? Only Ivoy uses them. Wm Clift jr of New York City is the Pres. of Club & uses them no one else that I have seen. I want a napkin ring. Seymour is a nice boy his diffidence is wearing off. Tell Aunt Sarah she don't know anything about it she has not seen enough of him to judge I don't see how he could hurt me? There is a bank here if I can negotiate checks in no other way I can call there. I will send you medicine in the way of letters pretty often. I hate steel pens I shall get a gold one first chance I will consult you first (Filial) Ahem! I sleep in bed. Can I speak more definitely. Blankets are thick & heavy. Why did you wish to see Dr. Lippe? Comfortable about 7ft long & about
