Ferguson & Watson Descartes: Principal & Prof. Watson Lecture on Mat. VII 7-12: Profs. Mowat & Mackerras [margin] D.D. for Rev Robert Sedgewick [/margin] The Senate having made the necessary inquiries resolved that at the statutory meeting and on the usual conditions they would confer the degree of D.D. upon the Rev. Robert Sedgewick of Middle Musquodeboit. The subject of conferring degrees on examination alone without class attendance was postponed to a future meeting. Adjourned to meet at 2.30 P.M. next Saturday Closed with prayer George Monro Grant Principal J.B. Sederunt Principal Grant, Professors Williamson, Mowat, Mackerras, Dupuis, Ferguson, and Watson. The mnutes of the last meeting held Jan. 12th were read and approved. [margin] new time-table considered [/margin] The subject of a new time-table was considered and it was agreed to take it up again at a future meeting. [margin] Changes in Calendar [/margin] The Senate resolved that in the list of subjects for the matriculation examination in the Calendar the subject of classics be arranged as follows "(a) Latin - Virgil Aeneid, Bk II Cicero pre Leg. Manit; translation of English into Latin prose. "(b) Greek - Grammar: Lucian, Charon; Homer, Illiad, Bk I.
