With reference to your communication 1A/230 of the 13th instant re Aboriginal names, you are advised as follows:-
(1) JACKADGERY means 'A Foolish Act' NIMMITYBEL - Unknown
(2) 'Pretty Bird' - MOOGARAS GOOLBU.
(3) TARRAGINDI - Unknown, may be obtainable from Willie McKenzie.
'Lovely Setting' - KALIMNA OMARU.

Several communications regarding Aboriginal names have been received by this Office. They are as follows:-
1. The correct pronunciation of JACKADGERY and (A Foolish Act) NIMMITYBEL. (Unknown) These are said to be Children's names.
2. The Aboriginal word for PRETTY BIRD. (MOOGARAS-GOOLBU).
3. The origin and meaning of the name }unknown TARRAGINDI, a suburb of Brisbane. }may be obtainable from Willie McKenzie.
4. The Aboriginal word for LOVELY SETTING. (KALIMNA-OMARU)
Your advice regarding these requests would be appreciated.

In further reference please quote 1A/230 Office of Director of Native Affairs William Street Brisbane, B7 CC/IB 28th January,1959. The Superintendent, Cherboug Settlement, Via MURGON. A request has been submitted to this office for an Aboriginal name suitable for a house being built at Caloundra. Aboriginal names are extremely popular for beach homes and these requests are becoming quite frequent. Matters could perhaps be simplified by your supplying a complete list of suitable mames together with their meanings. C. Campbell Director of Native Affairs.
