Mrs. L. V. Ryan, Queensland Government Representative in Melbourne, is desirous of ascertaining the meaning of the word "Moiomunda" and it would be appreciated if you would make enquiries and advise by return mail.
Aboriginal names meaning "Beside the water" or "On a hill" are also requested.

I regret that no one here appears to be able to give me any information regarding "Moio Munda" or even to be able to confirm that it is an aboriginal word. Aboriginal words for:- "Beside the Water" and "On a Hill" are "Gumubah" adn ("and" misspelt) "Mularnee" respectively. [Signature] (illegible - possibly "A. The Chief Protector of Aboriginals Brisbane.
In reply to your's of the 7th instant, I desire to inform you that I can procure six small souvenir boomerangs for the gentleman mentioned by you.
They will be about six inches from point to point and made of bull oak. The price will be one shilling and six pence each, and same will be sent forward as soon as completed.

That Officer is also being asked to provide food and accommodation pending his return, but should he want pocket money for the journey, I would be glad if you could forward him a small amount.
