JS looking after Croydon. 5.30 pm came over to slip. JS appointed Master & shifted to Tug Comp yard. Bought by Mr McGreggor of Tasmania. Hard gale wind. 20 Sunday Visited Croydon.

21 Monday SS Croydon Fletcher started work at 7.30 am. 2 hands working at steam chest. 22 Tuesday 2 hands working at Croydon. Stan Sheridan & Leonard started at 1/ eleven shilling per day. Fresh north gale. Bar 30-10. Weight of boiler about 8 tons. Croydon. Hard gale NW. 23 Wednesday 9.30 am Smith launch towed Croydon to Adelaide Comp Wharf & took out boiler & towed same back tug comp wharf by Launch Florrie. 4 hands working at Croydon all day. Wind west hard gale. Bar 30-10. Put boiler on the wharf Adelaide Comp & left two hands chipping same.

24 Thursday 4 hands working at Croydon & one fitter at engings & 2 on shore at boiler. Got some empty bags & kerosene 2 bottles. JS to town for crayfish for Mrs Hawker. 25 Friday Croydon 7.30 am 2 hands 8 ¾ hours cleaning & chipping. 1 fitter 8 ¾ hours at engings. 2 pm started discharging coal. Worked up to 10 pm. Put starboard chain & all [illegible text] work on wharf put all copper pipes in fitting shop & brass bearings tank oil. Stores sent to Western River. 50 flour 25 flour 2 tea 2 lollies 1 baking powder 1 tin [illegible text] 10 wool bales 1 [illegible text] 1 large tin jam 1 bag sugar 1 bag potatoes 1 25 17 bag oatmeal. Hard gale WNW 1 large [illegible text]. Mulligan 4 hours overtime 2/6 Stanley 10 s Leonard 11 each 26 Saturday 6 am Haul Croydon to slip 1 ½ hours over time. 2 hands & one fitter working at Croydon. 8.30 am to 12 hours 4 ½ hours work variously employed cleaning. Mulligan 1/3/4 hours. 27 Sunday On the slip.

28 Monday Croydon on the slip. 7.30 am 2 fitters & one labourer from Fletcher. 3 labourers & JS at work on Croydon chipping [illegible text] look after Cabin off. 29 Tuesday Came off the slip. No fitters. JS & 3 labourers at work. Shifted to tug comp slip. 30 Wednesday JS & 3 labourers at work on Croydon. Finish up work for Fletcher & got paid by cheque six pounds up to Thursday night.
