That these precious memories, this close sympathy, above all, this sweet tender, comforting presence of Him who is all our afflictions is afflicted with us, may be richly present to sustain and cheer you in this hour, is the sincere desire and prayer of your sincere and obliged friend,

to say He restoreth my soul He leadeth me, in the paths of righteousness, for His names sake.
May the everlasting arms be underneath and around you and may you be able to claim His promise, I will be a husband to the widow.
May He keep, guide, and direct your pathway in this life and in that house, which He has gone to prepare for those that love Him. May He bring you with tenderest care to meet again your beloved husband, and darling boy, who have fallen asleep in Jesus.
Asleep in Jesus, blessed sleep, From which none ever wak[e] to weep.

Memorial Acrostic
Long and mournful the bells are tolling, Every voice is hushed Lone and silent - the throng is moving Amidst that awful hush. None are smiling, but hearts are sighing Dead, 'tis an awful crush.
Slow and silent - the throng moves onward, Toward the vaulted dome. Around him press his friends and comrades, unwilling to go and leave him alone Never again will the face so genial smile on this friends, and comrades so dear! For death will hold him, until that morning, where his Redeemer shall appear. Over the lives of those around him, He scattered blessings full and freee Receiving the smile of his God above him, and the prayers of many, on bended knee. Dear will his memory, ever be cherished. By those who love him and know him best and in that house of many mansions, His God will give him eternal rest.

It is such men that are worthy stewards
