I write however without the knowlege of any hman being, it is a matter thought out by myself and it would come as a glad surprise to our enthusiastic little band. If you are really inclined to heed this urgent appeal but feel that it would be a precedent for others to take advantage of let me say that should you request it the name of the donor will not be published in the county papers, and only the offiicial need be told the source of the gift. Our yearly business meeting still be held early in the year and how pitifully small the showing wil be of the means available and of the numbers reached by conversion

I am sure that within a reasonable time you would hear of a greatly enlarged and effective work being done in this place - I believe the Lord would sanction it as it is for Gospel work in a needy field.

I am a man 59 years old who has always been industrious temperate and morrell from boyhood have worked hard yet am not a failure. I have suceeded in part I have some property for the past two years business has gone unfavourable with me so my property is involved. I sincerly request that you send me a check for $2000.00 if granted would only be used for worthy and benevolent objects.

I have an estimable family consisting of a Wife and 2 Sons and 2 Daughters all go in clean and respectful society.

I hope you may consider this petition favourably and forward the check which would put me in a position to honourably discharge all business obligations which to my mind is our first duty.
