Hello there!

Remember us? We're somewhere in downtown New York in our luxury suite at the Waldorf Astoria being pampered to death . . too bad it doesn't last, we're leaving today. 2 beds, "sitting room" (more of a changing room in our opinion, but...), & LARGE bathroom. They even turn down our beds at night! Finally managed to get a little rest after being up for 48 hours and I'm at least functional now, one more day here and then on to DC for a day & then Columbus . . HELP!! Heard you couldn't find Joz, dad . .I'll tell her you tried. Denise's turn now - Bye - Vickie

Howdy! Obviously by the postcard we got to the UN and took the tour and all - really exciting since I knew what they were talking about from MUN. "Children of a Lessor God" was just as good as you said . . and "Dancin' " was excellent too and totally different from COALG. This is truly an exciting city but the buildings are unbelievable! They're on all sides of you and HUGE!!! There's no greenery around either - really wierd! Got to go now - see y'all in 2 weeks. Bye - Denise

Ok, I got Mom's Valentine card and letter today. Thanks. I trust by now you've received the confirmation that the youth rail arrived, if not, it did, thanks. We won't have that problem again, since I found out yesterday there's some guy in London that can get them in 2 days, or if that fails, American Express in 10. Thanks for the prescription, I'll have to get it to a doctor here probably to get it filled, so when I get around to it...I'm not sure why you sent me my canceled checks, I can't do anything with them anyway, but ... Got the American Express and Auto Club cards, I assume there's an Auto Club affiliate here although you didn't tell me what. While I'm thinking about it don't forget to send credit cards and keys with Denise to D.C. since I might not know by then when I'm coming back. O.K., as for the money, somehow dad didn't listen when I told him I needed more book money etc. (including a £30 storage fee). That means:

Thanks for the extra [?]50 from the insurance, it was unexpected and really nice. As for my birthday, thanks for the offer, I'll probably take you up on at least part of it, but I really don't know how much yet. It depends on my situation when the time comes. I obviously have to do it in early June, but right now I have no idea what will be happening.

Appreciated the news on Grandma and Dave and Chris (find out the kid's name if you can) I don't get much of that since grandma can't write. Sounds like I'm not the only one whose life's falling apart (although mine's in one piece now) bet Dad's having a great time.

Glad to hear all the bills are in order, was just going to remind you to pay them so that saved me that problem. Sorry you can't come over but thanks for telling me so I can plan a little more now.

As for me, not much is going on but a lot of studying all of a sudden. We have 4 plays in a week (The Way of the World tonight, The Wild Duck tomorrow, The Greeks on Saturday, and A Month In the Country a ballet, Monday) so that kills next weekend. With a litle luck I'll get into London, but I don't even know about that at this point. I have one paper in rough draft form and another to start (Education - very difficult paper with real research) plus a lot of plays to read so you might not hear much from me in the next few weeks, especially since finals is right after that and then the break.

Looks like the break will be in France and Italy, the girl I may be travelling with will be in Italy next quarter so we'll end there. Neither of us speaks any French, so that will be interesting, but, what can I say? Plans may still change. I've learned not to make any firm plans around here since they always seem to get really messed up. I'll just play it by ear and see if any other opportunities come up, and start planning only when

absolutely necessary. At least I know I have the rail pass this time. I think I'll end up starting it now, and running visits to tours, Berlin and Florence campuses at the beginning of the quarter. I'll have to waste a week of the passover Spring mid-quarter break when I go to Scotland, but that's the breaks I guess, and I can probably let someone else use it, so at least someone will get some good out of it that week.

No more pertinent news I can think of, and I have to get ready for the play, so I'll shut up now and write when I have something interesting to say. Bye.
