Members suggested that the president should inquire after the opinions of the absent members concerning the matter, & the business was put off.

President submitted then reported the third part of [his?] program, namely the Ban that the club is going to to prepare an Arrival Banquet to be given to for Alumni & Trustees. It was carried To be considered later. As this is the custom for past years the matter is settled without much discussion.

President again submitted to the club a third motion, the fourth part of his program namely to have a picture taken for the Basket players, all those players who went out for practice [meet?]. Mr. Wu moved that the picture should not include those who did not actually play as a team member. The motion was defeated. The date for the picture was fixed on next Saturday afternoon.

The fifth item of the program was concerning the prize of Mr. Chih, the 象棋 champion was awarded a prize Hsan Chih championship. The prize was of four dollars 15 cents. In addition a handsome picture would be taken for Mr. Chih.

Hand Ball & tennis tournaments were propsed and carried By marjoriy vote. Prizes were offered By Taam & Sah respectively.

Wei Chih tournament were was proposed & carried. prize was offered By K.C. [Yeung?].

Hsan Chih 象棋 tournament proposed & carried. Mr. Chih offered a prize for it.

Third Meeting : Spring Quarter, April 27th.

Meeting called to order at 7:30. Minutes were read. and a Correction was made by Mr. Sah concerning Chih's prize which was 4 dollars 15 cents instead of $4.75.

President asked Mr. [Chien?] to report the conference business meeting They attended last night in San Francisco. The conference which The meeting which [consider?] if the representatives of the Western students alliance discussed the [sin?] summer [seat?] to be used for the Western students' conference to be held at August. Chien said that the board of trustees had chosen Stanford as the most desired seat for this year, and the Stanford Delegates had consented to the suggestion. [Chuan?] urged that the matter must be decided in the affirmat for two reasons. First since the trustees had put the task before us as a moral challenge, it is [our time?] for us to show our spirit spirit of cooperation and service. Second, it is a good chance for us for to propagate for Stanford University & the Stanford Chinese Club.

Various question were asked by new members regarding the nature of the conference. D.K. Chang said that the success of the conference wholly depends upon the hard preparation of the members & nothing else. Without laborious prepration, It would be a confusion and a failure. President then asked how many of the members were {insert}not{/insert} not going to stay here for the summer. There were not many. There was some furthe discussion.

Mr. Chien moves that the Stanford Students' Club should ewlcome the conference. It was carrie seconded and carried by a majority vote.

Chien again moved that the secretary should write a formal letter to the president of the Western Students' alliance to welcome the conference. Huang said that the matter need not be put to vote. Since the motion was passed, naturally the secretary had to write that letter.

Financial problems of the conference were discussed. The Club was charged to raise $150 for the conference. Various methods were discussed of raising money were discussed. Huang moved that the money left {insert}by the club{/insert} at the end of the spring quarter should be made over for the conference, which was approximately $30.

Mr. Chien moved that each member of the club should contribute {insert}about{/insert} $2. Huang said that it was better to have a minimum sum. Chien amended his motion that each member should contribute a minimum sum of $1. The motion was carried.

Huang suggested that the club should ma made clear the point that the conference is not going to collect any entrance fee from the members of the alliance.

Methods of raising money outside the club were discussed. Huang suggested that we should not ask any subscription from the Chinese cooks here. Sah asked whether how much the House could contribute to the conference. Mr. Huang answered that since the House was is wretched condition & needs [repairment?], it is hardly necessary that the House is going to contribute any.

Mr. Sah moved that the club should elect a debating team ready for the conference inter-colligiate debate. The motion was carried. Mr. Shen was nominated the chairman of the debating committe.

The members of the Club [subscribed?] a tentative sum of about eighty dollars. Eighty-two dollars.

The informal gathering to be given to the cosmopolitan club was discussed by the president to some extent.

President brought put before the club that the cosmopolitan club had asked our club to support the it financially in the coming float - competition. and Some said that it was a moral obligation for us to help the cosmopolitan club. Some said we better not. Mr. Chien was asked to find out the definite sum.

(President reminded the members about the coming May - 7th, our national shame memorial humiliating day.)

Sah moved that the club should not support the cosmopolitan club - the float - competition. The motion wasput to to vote with a result of 12-4. Mr. Ping called for division. Approximate sum was [subscribed?] by the members personally. Mr. Ping suggested that the club was not going to enter the Float as a club.

Treasurer read the names who paid the membership fee.

Fourth Meeting Spring Quarter. June 7th, 1924

Meeting called to order by president at 7:30. Minutes were read and adopted.

President made a tentative report about the preparations that the coming conference officers [were and?] are doing. Things are going on very smoothly and it seemed that they promise would promise a good success.

The meeting then shifted its business to the annual banquet to be given to the trustees & alumnis. Mr. Wu moved that the club should give a banquet do so. The motion was carried. The club {insert}House{/insert} had $25 for the Banquet. The sum was not enough. Mr. Kwan moved that the undergraduates should each contribute $1.50 to the banquet. It was carried.

Mr. Ping moved that the date of the Banquet should be Firday evening, the last day of the final examination, i.e. [both?]. Further discussion made him withdraw his motion. Mr. Fang moved that the date be 21st, Saturday night. Carried.

Business meeting adjourned at 8 o'clock.

Meeting called at 7:30. [?]棋 prize given to Mr. Chi. The first girl student, Miss Yeh, is called upon to speak.

any room. Clean shoe before coming in the House. Clean Keep the rooms in good order. Then the matter of the detaining of the Chinese students was announced and left to the attention of the new president. Secretary was told to write another letter to the U.C. Club about the question. The work in the Students' Conference about the unifying of the students body in the U.S. was mentioned. If any {inserted line}to consult with the colleges along the coast.{/insert} difficulties, reports should be handed in to Students' Monthly. An article about the proceedings to be written by the secretary.

Membership dues called, Eating Club schedule announced, by Mr. Wu, the Eating Club manager.
