May. 1915 Sun. 2 Went to store renovated waist, wrote short story - went to Boynton's for supper. Stewart saw me home. Showery day.

Mon. 3 Pottered in office - profitless day. Depressed & unable to find zest in anything. [Sewed?] in evening.

Tues. 4 Pottered in office. In Evening Miss G & I went to Hearth & met Editha & we went to see Ethel Barrymore in "The Shadow" Acting good, play [slops?]. E & I walked home.

Wed. 5 Worked in office. Ethel & I had lunch at Hearth. Pottered around office. Miss G & I had tea at Hillman's & went to look at dresses. Walked home [continued on next page]

1915 May. [continued from previous page] with E after dinner at the Hearth. V. tired went to gym.

Thurs. 6 Got down at 9.30. Took Rose for cup of tea at Hillman's. Miss G. Miss H. Editha & I had dinner at Hearth. E & I walked home. I left some lilacs at Boyntons. Dull day. Walked down with Miss Byrne

Fri. 7 Busy day in office took singing lesson. Excitement over sinking of Lusitania. Miss G. E. Miss H & I had dinner at Hearth. E & I walked home. I was so tired I lay down & slept at once. Cold & dull.

Sat. 8 Got down at 9.30. Worked on press syndicate stuff. Mrs R. telephoned when she came home. Miss G & I had tea at Hillman's & I tried on many hats. Supper with E at Hearth & walked home. E put forth m. making scheme of Mr Crump & E P.

May. 1915 Sun. 9 Went to store across street for supplies League meeting thence to Hull House for dinner & socialist meeting. Home with Editha & Rose S. Called at Rose's room

Mon. 10 Moved from 127 N. Dearborn to 166 W. Washington so it was a beastly day. Dinner with Editha at Hearth and walked home together. Practised a little & went to bed. Moved office to 166 W Washington

Tues. 11 Traipsed around between offices. Lunch with Miss G at Hearth. Started on my treasurer statement. Dinner at Hearth with Miss Phelps, Lawrence C & his Pa & walked home with Editha. Turned warm.

Wed. 12 Warm day. For lunch with Ethel M. Fannie Cohn & Rose S at Thompson's. Dinner at Pischel's to meet [Lehan?] an Irish Bounder. Phil Brown & Editha also there. Fred took us home in auto.

1915 May. Thurs. 13 Thursday Worked in office lunch with Miss G at Hearth. Called at Socialist meeting tea at coffee cafe at Sherman Hse. Dinner with Editha at Hearth walked home and practised. Beastly cold. Mrs Robins came in during afternoon.

Fri. 14 Beastly cold & wet of course no steam at 200 E. Superior. Lunch with Agnes. Dinner with Miss G. at Hearth then went to delgate meeting at 166 W. Washington

Sat. 15 Worked in office till 4. Came home slept a wink & went to Hearth from which Mr Crump took me to see Borgny Hammer play "Rosmersholm" at Little Theatre. Such a wet night!

May. 1915 Sun. 16 Went to dine at Dr Young's & home again at six & typed out story about Mabel & Clarissa. Cold & dismal.

Mon. 17 Mrs Robin's came to office & took me to lunch at Plows. Wants Miss Steghagen for Natl. Sec. Dinner at Hearth with Miss G. Miss H. & Editha. Walked home with E. found Miss Pierce had come.

Tues. 18 Perishing day. Lunch with my beloved Ethel. Dinner alone & walked home. Steam on so had an orgy of head washing etc. Miss Pierce came to my room & I made cocoa.

Wed. 19 Tried to get books straightened Mr Maynard called. Lunch with Sister E. Steghagen at Monroe Eat Shop. Dinner at Hearth with Miss Galvin Miss Carr Miss Phelps & [continued on next page]
