Indeed it has only been today that we have been thrown with them- How are you all getting along? I hope you are better__ I have thoght of you all a thousand thousand times God bless & keep you every one & may it please him to let us meet again in this world_ Tell Father Mr Collins wanted to write to him today but he was busy to the last moment he was here I did not see him from the time I left him at the depot for I came up with Messers Collier & Williams until he came up to get his dinner & went right down to the boat. __I will tell you when I write next what I think of the country & the [Missives?]. I have not had a good look at it yet__one thing

I can tell you I never saw much before I reached this city, it is indescribable-Tell Maggie we never had to open the blankets & quilts nor suffered with the cold at all. Kiss Becca & all for me. I would give any thing for a look in upon you all write soon & tell me all about your Xmas I do not feel as if there had been any Xmas-My love & good bye to all my friends I did not see & ask my kin folks to write to me.- I wish I had some of you all to sleep in this strange house with me tonight Rebecca is fretting and I must go to her good bye with love & kisses for you all & a large share for yourself from your devoted child

Greensboro Ala Dec 30th. 1865

Mr P C Cameron My dear. In accordance with the understanding had with Mr Collins new son-in-law While here - I have shipped seventy bales of [illegible?] Collins to William Stewart [illegible] Mobile - and have instructed them to sell as soon as they can do so advantageously - that is on the first ac. live market. Middlings are at present [illegible] about 48 [cents?] each for [illegible] in that market. & with- not having actually [illegible] Collins, be leave it to be above that wait [illegible] & [illegible] he can get for it 50 cents for lb. when sold I have instructed him to forward proceeds to you by draft [illegible]. [illegible] You and Mr Collins both succeed [illegible] to realize about what that number of bales will bring & I know of no way in which it can be [illegible] so safely and [expeditiously?]- I paid B [illegible] in November [last?] 18h.70 [illegible] & bagging not by [illegible], for you - loaned Mr Collins 200 dolls & [paid?] [illegible] new Freedmen 192.50- making in all 578.20. [illegible] which [illegible[ I have drawn one Mr Stewart who this draft has not as yet gone forward- Mr Collins was shipped on a [illegible]
