At a meeting of the Board of Trustees of the University at Hillsboro
Resolved, that Eight persons, be Balloted here, who are to compose a Committee to view and determine on the spot or [place where] to errect the Buildings for the University; On Balloting the Following persons when chosen to wit, for Morgan District M. Porter, Salisbury M. Hamilton Hillsboro M. Mebane, Halifax M Jones Edenton M [Stone], New Bern M Harget, Wilmington M. Hill, Fayette Ville M Hogg
Resolved that it be an instruction to said committee to inquire into the bricks, where at Building materials may be procured at the [[illegible]] by them to be appointed and that they report thereon to the next General Board—
Resolved, that the said Commiſsioners have discretionary ^power to contract for 300,000 Bricks to be delivered at said place.

Original Deed of Lands to Trustees
Judge [[illegible]] took into this bundle & see if this Land mentioned by him to W. P. some days since are amongst the papers included I have forgot who it was that Dr. Webb said was the donor.
Dr. Webb's Letter to T. Ruffin is as follows:
"Esquire of Mr Manly, if there be any evi"-dence of Title to 200 acres of Land given by John "Hogan to the University: There is such a "donation: The Land has been entered & "I understand a Grant taken out for it. We "ought to [look] after it."—
