God's Sunshine alights on the mountain And bathes it in beauty & light; The moutain Comes down to the Valley, And spreads out its wealth in the sight of the humblest who dwell in the Valley, Sustained by the wealth of this light.

And O! There are souls that are mountains And catch the first gleam of Gods light, And bear it in beauty & blessing on to those just so far up the [heights?]To souls that sojourn in the Valleys And live on the wealth of this light. -

Here now, in a beautiful valley - With heart like an overflowed cup, I sit with the sunshine around meI sit, and thank God, & - look up.

Like the dew in the morning, like the balmy breezes of early spring, like sunshine on the valleys of the mountains, like an inspiration from above, like a treasure to be cherished is the genial friendship of noble [pure?]-cultured family. The twenty days that I have lived here under the protection, kindness, loveliness and charm of Mr. & Mrs. Sewall shall ever be an education for better life, a picture of what home should be, and a soothing [happy?] beautiful memory that shall [?] creep into my heart in all places and times to drive away discouragement and gloom and call forth all the brighter and [?] side of my nature. Oh how lovely, how delightful to feel that I have the friendship, the good will of the noblest loftiest purest woman, whose

wealth of knowledge, and culture, enriched my mental poverty and my poor personality. May fortune always smile upon her fate, may her noble, benevolent [desires?] be granted and fulfilled, may her efforts on behalf of woman and humanity be always crowned with well [?ted] success, may happiness joy and delight spread [thru?] over her home, that all who are worthy may come to that peaceful dwelling and learn what a home should be and what woman could be in the world, and may the life of my host and hostess be long, gratifying and prosperous. This is the sincere wish and the hearty desire of your ever grateful friend
