Knoxville 6th April 1803

Sir,

I recieved a Letter some time ago from the Secretary of War a copy of which I herewith enclose you will please to make ^the request of the President known that in your Mero District in such manner as may appera to you best calculated to prevent the any expence [sic] and or embarrassment which might hereafter be occassioned by the irregular conduct spirits of visits of Indians [at?] to the seat of government

Knoxville 6th February 1804.~

Sir

As soon as you return to Nashville with your Regiment of Mounted Infantry you will please have those Companies belonging to Mero District mustered out of service, and those belonging to the Districts of Washington and Hamilton, as soon as they have returned to their respective Districts- You will please call on Bennet Searcy esquire to muster out of service the ^horses as well as the men belonging to Mero District, and request him to forward lists of the same certified by himself to the Office of the Secretary of this state, as soon thereafter as may be practicable.-

Your good disposition towards the brave men who have so readily offered their services at their country`s call will not suffer you to neglect to have regular and well authenticated accounts made out, in order that your Regiment

Department of war

Pay to William Rickard Pay Master pro tem. to the Troops in the Territory aforesaid, one hundred and twenty dollars out of the money in your hands appropriated for the defensive protection of the frontiers for the pay of a Detach-ment of Mounted Infantry of Mero District Colo. Isaac Roberts Regiment under the command of Sergeant Sylvenus Cassleman from the twenty sixth September, to the seventh — October 1794, agreeably to pay-roll and your report thereon of this date, for which this shall be your warrant.

Given at Knoxville under my hand & Seal the 15th. day of July 1795.
