to determine.

In the first class _ to wit, bills exclusively for account of the Corporation, the Committee find that in 131 cases the bills receipted are for a larger sum than the amount credited by the Superintendent, the aggregate of which

discrepancies is $4,152.14
In seven cases, an excess was credited of 54.50
which leaves a balance of $4,097.64
The difference in the bills ___
in whole or in part for granite is $4,377.74
To which we add the bills ___
of O'Donnell and Black referred ___
to in the last report 463.25
___ ___
which makes a total of $8,938.63
Thus much is derived from a comparison of bills with the accounts of the Superintendent.

The examination of the books shows that in numerous instances amounts are charged to proprietors in the Leger or Journal or both which are not accounted for in the Cash book; and others again which have been credited only in part. _ Until the final the final close of the examination, we cannot state precisely what this deficiency is; but the approximate amount is $600 _ which added to the previous amount makes a total of $9,538.63 unaccounted for.

All of which is respectfully submitted, For the Committee, Chas. G. Nazro, Chairman Boston .

proprietors - nearly three thousand in all, only seven or eight hundred of whom responded. It is, therefore, entirely impossible, with our present means of information to know whether the residue have paid any bills or not.

The books and bills have been examined with the most minute and elaborate care, and, so far as we have the evidence, an exact knowledge arrived at.

There is but one way in which a certain result can be reached, and that is to employ some one who shall personally visit all those proprietors who have not sent any bills, and learn from them whether they have paid any or not. In no other manner can we be sure in regard to it.

The Committee have now only to submit the final details of their examination, and ask to be discharged.

In 134 cases of bills for account of the Cemetery there is a deficit of ___ $4.685.14
From which we deduct amounts over credited including items twice credited in 27 cases ___ $141.25
___ ___ $4.538.89
___
Amounts entered in Leger or Journal as received, but not entered in cash book nor credited in settlement with Treasr 187 cases $1114.44
Less over-credited in 8 cases 9. 1.105.44
O'Donnell's and Black's bills evidently twice charged ___ $463.25
___ ___ $6.107.58
