heard that poor Uncle Phil Reece died suddenly of heart failure on May 5th at Nicholson Pennsylvania Where they live - It is very [underlined] sad on poor Aunt Anna --- They were about to start on a long auto ride it was Phils birthday --- Harold went East to attend the funeral & is there still I think. He was having such serious eye trouble that he was having an enforced vacation from the bank.

We hope he will see a first class specialist while in the East as his eyes have been badly [underlined] affected apparently.

easy now.

It is difficult dressing undressing etc. The Dr said I should keep it in the sling for four or five days & bandaged about 9 days. & she thinks it will probably leave little if any scar.

The first night it was very painful —

deep seated disease of the eye – as appeared very probable last week. It is very puzzling & disquieting though – & at times we feel at our wits end to know what [underlined] to do for & with her. However as I say she seems better & so I hope will continue so. Am begging Harold Rixon to go away for a change but so far I can't persuade him to avoid times baby has a bath!

It was nice to hear all about him & Les & Joc & the baby & Edward – It is
