My dear old Sned:

I have just received your letter saying that you wont be home this week end. I am sorry because I like to have you around, but I have no doubt that you are quite right in staying at the University and putting in some good licks. On the other hand "all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy".

Jos is working very hard i.e. the Mill has been running to 6 pm instead of 5. He will not know until tonight if he can get away tomorrow afternoon to go to Brookdale. They worked all last Sunday though Jos did not.

He and I are going to eat Spanish stuff at La Rosa's tonight as we are a little tired of cooking.

I suppose you know that John Balthasar Fritschi Eleanor Marion Rixon Fritschi & John R. Fritschi drove down in their machine last Saturday to Gonzales where they stopped at the Alpine Tavern. On Sunday they went to the Santa Maria Inn & on Monday they went to Santa Barbara. I suppose they reached Los Angeles Tuesday. They did not know where they would stay but said it might be the Hotel Clark. They said if Lesley wanted to come home, he could come back with them. I wrote Les to that effect and on Wed got a wire from him to know if Jack was coming and would he be able to come back with him So I suppose hes is coming up, but I dont think they will be

My dear old Sned:

Enclosed find postal from Doris Haslett also letter which came last night from Mother. A postal came yesterday from Helen that Nor was home and feeling fine. You wont be home tomorrow. I am taking Les to lunch tomorrow to the S.F. Court Club to hear a talk on Moving Pictures, which is the only thing in the world that he appears interested in. He expects to go back to Long Beach the first week in Sept.

I see Sept 5 & 9th are both holidays so it might be possible for me to get away for that week. Mary Helen Bates has cut her first tooth. Terrific excitement. I have not seen it but hope to tomorrow. John Balthasar Fritschi Eleanor Marion Rixon Fritschi & John R. Fritschi have come back from their trip to the Pines 70 miles NE of Fresno. Said it was no good and cost them $9.50 per day each or $22.50 for the three per day. Everyone well. No news. Dont know when Mother is coming back, but in a letter to Ella she says she must arrange to come back very soon as she wants to help you to select a medical school!

Lots of love to you from Les & me

always your loving father

in which he is evidently very earnest, and no doubt understands a great deal, but I am not sure at all that I can learn much from him. His psychic ideas do not appeal to me. They do not seem wholesome – he appears to me to be unbalanced in that direction. We are glad to hear that business is keeping up fairly well, that is that Lesley is paying expenses, and hope soon it will be better. Jack Fritschi is home this evening – left this A.M. at six. He is better than when we first came and I hope will remain so. My cold is much better. Have you got quite over yours Becca – I hope you are building yourself up all you can. I enjoyed the grape juice immensely that you gave us in our lunch – & the grapes & everything. The figs were enjoyed by the infants here – or some of them. Fond love to all the boys, Lesley & yourself, Eleanor "Ella" Rixon Fritschi
