11) ye leaves ought to be dis= =tinguished into foliis & foliolis The foliolis, I take to be ye upper leaves — But these in my spcns are of ye same form with ye lower leaves. By Cordatis amplexicauli= =bus, he must intend ye projected angles at ye base of ye leaf; for it is, in fact, semimplexi= =caulibus, but ye angles wh projected give ye appearance of amplexical- I should describe it —

A. nova Anglia — fol. lanceolatis alternis integerrimis, sub= =amplexicalibus, pilosis, caly= =cileus discum sub aqualis, laxis; caulebus hispido.

Variet: CC ramis brevisimis sub= =consertis.

12) Aster N. Anglia — Variety B. N. England Aster

Leaves longer — narrower & farther distant. Blossoms on spreading branches — forming a more open pani= =cle.

The Blossom in both species have more numerous rays & a larger disk. They are ye largest of ye N. England Spc.

Sept. 16th Solanum nigrum. Gen. Chr. most generally accord — Spec. Chr. equally agree. Vide 61 page

I have doubted whether it was native, But Linn. says, Habitat in Orbis toti= =us cultis. Blossoms white with yellow Anthera Wt Variety We have 2 Varirity Vide page 61 of this book —

13) Sept. 16 Aster dumosus Bushy Starwort. Chr. arrord well

We have ye 2 varieities, men= =tioned by Aiton.

A radio pallide vivlaces, caule pubescente. Purple flowered Bushy Starwort

The stem tall, slender, usually coloured — foliolis long slender. Foliis very long slender & patent Y form pendent — Bloss a pale purple in radio — disk pale yellow very little down on ye stems.

B. radio albo, caule glaon White flowered Bushy Starwort

Not so Tall — branches more divaricated, Numerous, very small. foliolis very small broader at ye base & much shorter than ye other. Blos White red: =io — pale yellow. disk Leaves on ye little branches very thick.
