Some may object to the proposed Magazen, & Say with truth that the Cuntry is already full of news papers & Books of kinds on political Matters, which is granted, & for this very Reason the Magazen is pro posed, of a Labouring Man may as well hunt for pins in a hay -mow as to trye to Colect the knoledge nesecary for him to have from such promiscous piles of Controdiction, which if the most usefull parts were selected & preserved in such a Magazen, they might be Refered Back too 50 - or a hundred years hence & save the cost & troble of Reprinting -

Stamp Act For the Chronicle Mr Addams One of your Cuntry Customers wishes to be Informed by some wiser head, through the Chanel of your usefull paper, whether their Cant be Some Cheeper way found out to git money into the Continental treasury, when it is needed, than by the Stamp act -

I was under the nesecaty a few Days ago the other Day to git two Stamp Noats of the Lowest Denominat[?] & I had to send three miles after them [?] the trader Charged twelve Cents & a halfe for them, & at the Common price [Loan?] of a horse for three miles out & inn travel it would make them cost twenty four Cents ondly Eight of which goes into the treasurey, & I have bin Informed that their is a Deduction from that of ten percent to these [tradirs?] who purchises by the Quantity to Resale - So that at this Lay the above Rate (if I Calculate Right) it costs the peopel three Hundred Dollars to git ninety into the treasury -

I am the more anctious for Information - Because that whare I Live, when the State government Cauls for money we can have it assesed, Colected & paid in to the treasury for Less than Six 3 purcent - Econimy

NB pleas to Insart publish the above & you will oblige a true frind to the Chronicle

I although I have a Small Landed Interest I have always bin obliged to follow hard Labour to Seport a Large family yet I have Constantly taken newspaper over Sence Concord fight fr about ten years back they have Cost me [31 1/2?] a year in Cash, But Confidant I am that that was not one third of the Cost that they ware to me, it May thought to be a Dificult thing to forme Such a Society, But onlly Let a printer be agreed with in Each State to adver tise Such a Magazen & thousands would take them if it was onlly for a amusement & they would Soone See it for their Interest to organise as proposed in ordin to have them in the Cheapest Manner & the Society would Come together Like a [Bribing?] framed & marked.

Their is one More objection which May be Raised against with two Much truth [Via?] the Enemies to free Governments have always bin Crying out that their is not Virtue & knoledge anough amoung My brother Labourers to Seport Such a [good?] for they will [not?] Lie for themselves & Consequently when they Get in Elections & other Matters that Consarne them as free men they are Easily decieved, bribed, flattered or [forme?] to act Contrary to their true Interests, But It is presumed that if Such Means of knoledge was Established & Corrupted totheir Dores almost without Money & without price their would always be a large Majority that would Read, See , think, & act for themselves & their own Interests & would [Yealausly?] Soport a free government Solong as Selfe Interest governs Man

Which may the almighty Grant is the [Linear?] [Definer?] of a Labourer [Effatially?] all they need In Elections, by furnishing them with a Monthly Magazen & the town presidents with a newspaper, & when nesicary by Spetial Meetings, hand Bill & other Corraspondance, also they are to Superintend the Magazen So for as to correct all Mistakes & false Representations that Should happen to git published in them as Soone as possable In short to See that they Contain the truth, the hole truth, & nothing but the truth respecting the Labourers [Interests?] as near as possable
