2 qts Beets cooked + choped when cold. 2 qts C[abba]ge choped raw. 1 cup grated horse Radish 2 cups Sugar 1 desert spoon salt pepper to taste Cover all with cold vinegar

Cucumber pickle

Slice 1 qt cucumbers thin and sprinkle with salt. let stand 2 hours then drain. add 1 cup brown sugar 1 teaspoon celery seed 1 " mustard seed 1 tumeric, few whole cloves 1 large onion 1 green pepper cover with vinegar boil 5 minutes put in glass cans

Pneumonia Poultice

Take 6 onions chop fine 2 cups of vinegar cook 5 or 10 minutes add rye flour, or flack seed to form a thick paste. apply hot until prespratation starts. Remove + put on a hot flannel as soon as Poultice cools a little put on another hot one
