Nut Cake

2 sticks all butter or 1 stick butter and 1 stick margarine 1 1/2 cups sugar 3 eggs 2 teasp. vanilla or almond flavoring 1 pt. sour cream 3 cups sifted flour 1 1/2 teasp. soda 1 teasp. salt 1/2 Jar glazed cherries 3/4 cup ground nuts 3/4 cup raisins

Cream shortening, add sugar, eggs one at a time Add vanilla Add sour cream with dry ingredients - last add cherries, nuts, and raisans Bake at 325` oven - 1 hour. 10 min..

Dutch Cookies

375` 12 - 15 min. 2 cups brown sugar 4 whole eggs 1 tsp. salt 1 cup shortening 1 tsp. vanilla 2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. baking soda 4 cups flour or more 1 cup milk

Cream sugar with shortening. Add eggs. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk. Drop by spoonfuls on greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle tops with cinnamon sugar mixture.

Rum Balls

3 cups ground vanilla wafers. 1 cup ground pecans 1 cup powdered sugar 1/2 cup Rum 3 tablespoons light corn syrup Mix all together and form into balls. Roll in powdered sugar. Makes about 40 balls. Store in a tin box.

Rum Balls

1/2 lb. vanilla wafers (ground) 1 cup finely ground walnuts 1 cup powdered sugar 2 tablespoons chocolate 1/2 cup light corn syrup 1/4 cup rum mix well and roll 2 inch balls in powdered sugar. Store in cookie can. yields about 2 doz.
