Dear Sir
In reply to your favor of 28th with say that owing to the names being different I did not at first trace your connection with the grave #316 in St. John's Lot, but if you have the papers it is all right. Except that but two interments are ever allowed in a public grave & one has already been made, so that it would be necessary for you to make some other provisions in regard to one of the bodies.
Yrs Truly J.W. Lovering Supt.

Dear Sir
You are authorised to stop any man from putting rubbish on the paths or avenues, whether he be in the employ of the Corporation or not & to notify him he will not be allowed to work in the Cemetery unless he complies with this rule.

Dr Sir
All rubbish made in working on the lots must be removed as soon as made & must not be placed on the Avenues or paths under any circumstances or it will be removed by the Corporation at your Expense.

Dear Sir
Your favor of the 30th received and also plan.
I can see no better way of improving the lot than to carry out this plan, which makes the lease of the lot about the same as the path around it now is, and makes on the lower side a [stake?] from the lot line to the Avenues. This would cost probably $200 less whatever could be obtained from the old stones. To do it well there would be considerable recutting of joints &c. This plan would be a great improvement on the present one, and once done would not require as much in the way of repairs as now.
Yrs very truly J.W. Lovering
I return plan as you may want it.

Dear Sir
I enclose your estimate of stone curbing to finish your tomb $120 for the stones and $2.40 for the inscription. It will cost ten or twelve dollars more to place the curbing, clamp it to the tomb & lead the joints. To sesod the banks on each side of the tomb as proposed would cost from $40 to $50 as the sods if once taken off would probably not be good enough to be replaced.
The stone curbing you will have to order direct from the maker, as the Corporation does not furnish it. I can have it placed for you, or any grading done by the Corporation workmen.
