FRI. MARCH 17 1916 Mrs Ussher & I arose & rode on top of 'bus down to Bow to see Sylvia Pankhurst's work. Had lunch together near Oxford Circus. I came home & rested & then typed diligently till 10.15. Fine hazy moonlit night.
SAT. MARCH 18 1916 Lovely day. Worked in morning. In afternoon Kath. & I went out to Golder's green on top of a 'bus all the way coming & going. I decide to join the W. P. Service.

SUN. MARCH 19 1916 Stayed in house all day feeling irritable & futile. Accomplished nothing whatever. Fine day as to weather
MON. MARCH 20 1916 Shopped in morning at World's End. [previous 3 words written vertically down right hand side of page] Typed all afternoon Went to bed early. Nice day only a few showers.

TUES. MARCH 21 1916 Wet day. Worked on typewriter in morning then went to Nell Malone's creche at 40 Argyll Sq. W. C : (Miss Depasse) Nell came home with me & we had a feast pineapple & cocoanut. [coconut] Nell stayed so late that she missed last 'bus. Bought flying cap etc at Harrod's on way to Nell.
WED. MARCH 22 1916 Wrote in morning then met Miss N. Smyth at Int. Suffrage Club, 9 Grafton St at 4.30 & had tea. Home by Brompton Rd to call for Mrs Ussher but she had gone. Tired, went to bed early.

THUR. MARCH 23 1916 Went to Harrod's in morning & changed cap for unshopworn one. Came home & worked & slept 2 hours in afternoon ex-hausted. Got a lot more Am. Mail. Did S. Pankhurst article for S. M. Herald. Went to bed late
FRI. MARCH 24 1916 Mrs U. & I went to White Chapel Tribunal. Rode to top of 'bus. Glorious day. Lunch at Popular Café. Home & slept exhausted till 6.30.

SAT. MARCH 25 1916 Shopped in morning worked in afternoon. Wheelers called on Usshers & I went in to tea. Washed head great performance owing to hard water
SUN. MARCH 26 1916 Went to Miss Champion for Lunch. She look Ada S, Miss Baxter & me to private view of Riviere Junr. & Senr. pictures then I went to Deptford to see P. Meggitt on request of her mother but she was out. sunny & sleety day.
