Governor of Utah

Did Christ say "Whatsoever things ye can or could do to men, do ye?" Ten thousand times no! He did not. Governor hear this- "Therefore all things whatsoever yo could that men should do unto you, do ye even so to them" "Is it so you intend to do toward Joe Hill? Put yourself in his place - and Joe Hill in your chair as Governor, would you say "Go on murder me since you are in the position to do it." As for the sake of Gods Justice be just to me as you hope for it. When you stand before Gods bar of Justice. Its up to you Governor of Utah

Governor of Utah Honored Sir:

Joe Hill a leader of working men, now lies in jail in the State of Utah, awaiting execution, which will take place on Oct. 1st.

Joe Hill was convicted by a packed jury, and was sentenced by a partial Judge. His only crime being that of loyalty to the working class.

On October the first, this man will be murdered, murdered, I say; the life that God gave unto him, and the God alone should take away, will be snuffed out. And if he is not pard oned you will classed as one of his murderers. You have the power to respite Joe Hill, and if you insist tha he must die, a wave of condemnation will float over the State of Utah, which will make all men connected with guilt of executing Joe Hill, quake and quell.

I, as one, ask you to weigh well the words penned here, and do as any gentle man would do, give Joe Hill justice, as he is not guilty of robbery or murder.

Governor, the handwriting is on the wall, allow Joe Hill to be shot, and the biggest quake that Utah ever knew will rock it. Justice must and will tiumph.

Yours for Justice,

Arthur A. Chief
