lished in the "Revolt", a Swedish monthly magazine of revolutionary thought and anarchistic tenor, printed in Chicago. More over, this man is a strong agitator of free love. This is a grave accusation but nevertheless true. He is the founder of a club in this City which sails under the beautiful cloak of "temperance" where he can unmolestedly poison the young, pure minds which he has successfully gathered around him and to study his favorite writers, such as: Emma Goldman, Bergegrew and other atheists of the same debased thought. I pronounce this man to be a dangerous character and an undesirable citizen in the best sense of the word an deserves to be deported, or at least not to escape unpunished. Get a faithful translation of his published writings in "Revolt" and your hon. will be fully convinced. He has

been active in Salt Lake City for two years, sowing his evil seed — some day, it will, undoubtedly bear fruit. Himself and some of his club members have paid visits to Hillstrom in the prison, denouncing the "atrocious injustice. Birds of one feather flock together. If Hillstrom is innocent and his life hangs by a thread, let then his "mysterious woman" come forth to save his life. Fiction! only capable of a poet who's poems belong to the curbstone-literature. A man who sheds innocent blood — especially in such a cold-blooded, heartless manner as Hillstrom did it — has sealed his own doom, he must atone with the shedding of his own blood. Why should his life be spared, who took an other man's life? His crime is unpardonable. If the "life for life method" was strictly adhered to, we would have, I am assured, a somewhat less

number of murerers an bandits in the world to day. More leniency, more crimes. Presume that the murderer should ask his victim to choose between death, or the deprivation of liberty. What would be the victim's answer? Answer! Why he would fall on knees and implore: Take my liberty, give me a dungeon to live in, but spare my life. Now then, what of the murderer? Shall he have the privilege to live, denied to the innocent victim? Life imprisonment to a man-slayer is no punishment. What a ridiculousness to house, feed, clothe, etc. such a caracter for fifteen to twenty years or more! The chances be that he, after a number of years of "exceptionally good behavior" is turned free — probably to commit an other crime. Everything seems to indicate Hillstrom's guilt nothing proves his innocence. I
