Very easy to get along with.

Not dull, and not too exciting.

Body still looked great. Good arms, great skin + lats, nice far, somewhat hairy chest, tan. Fun!

We made it last too, but without trying. Finally I came over his shoulder.

I like when I can still do that.

SAT OCT 17 '87

8:30 Get up. Misc. Watch Pee Wee go get stereo. w/Pat watch wrestling + read aerial picture book ~ SF

11:15 Go to gym.

12:00 Workout. Nice. Not too crowded. Nice, long workout, not as cruisy crazy. See some old faces, Gary Harrison. Take it easy, first by pool, then in steam room very briefly because a learing troll was in there, who I'd been stared during workout. Shower.

3:00 Dick + I walk to street fair and have lunch spaghetti. S+W blond, Bill and other guy from SF.

4:30 Return to gym, and wait for Pat in locker room. Saw Nick of Entertainment Tonight and Old Redondo Beach. These guys are so pro-LA. Good weather, but what to do? Saw some very nice looking guys. Sal, friend of Dick's, ultra cute. Go home, after calling Jorge

6:00 Relax, think + write. What to do. Dick wants to get coke from Jorge tonite, so gotta go. But not to go out to eat, I hope. I have strong reservations ~ doing coke. Pat goes to get groceries. Dick says he's going to get Jorge, which will take about 45 minutes, so I decide I should go to. Fun trip with the top down, and Dick says it's the way he goes to work. But it was very busy traffic and he says it's like that all the time. Especially bad at interchange from 10 to Harbor. Not as great ~ trip to work for views as mine.

But that's not important to Dick, just to me. Dick did get very keyed up about traffic though, especially when the car stalled. Saw building where he works. 25 minutes. Off to Echo Park. See Jorge's. He gave Dick the coke, but we didn't do any. Driving back, Jorge told about his new job at Western Costume. Sounds OK. At least I'm glad to hear he's employed. Oh, at his home he showed me Worksdays ad. Trip back seemed a lot shorter, talking. Flatness surrounds us, though.

Back at Dick's we made dinner, and had a good time talking, I having Chivas + soda I was actually somewhat articulate + bright, it was nice eating at home.

Ate dinner, talking about where I should live. Then afterward, Jorge made a joint which was sprinkled with hash oil. I pretended to smoke some. Pretty mild too. I had quite a fun time then, but I can't remember why. Just good lines. Jorge laid out some lines of coke, and I did just a very little. More fun. We decide to go to West Hollywood, and not one way, detour, or gauntlet of Silverlake. Nothings really changed very much. We decide to meet at Revolver where we have a drink: Chivas + soda. Oh, before going + upon parking, I do just a little coke. Jorge offers to sell. No, I say.

At Revolver, we watch music video, still not much comedy. And everyone's in one big room looking up at screen. That's always bothered me, passivity of it. Saw Carl Peach, lives in Laguna now, with little Bobby. Landscape architect. But people still drive a long way for a Saturday night.

After a while of this, getting boring, we went to Studio I. Walked by Mother Lode. Long line, for what.

Had coffee, kahlua, cream and saw Glen Cram. Likes Newport. Still no boyfriend. Reno laywer friend too. Talked about skiing Baker + Bachelor.

Danced with Dick a while. Had a little more coke in the toilet. Then went to Backlot Bar. Scotch + soda.

was walking around by myself when they started to play good music, the Big LA favorite of mine. So I found Pat + while dancing I saw a cute guy looking at us, and afterwards we talked. He'd just moved here, didn't have anything going on, didn't respond to what I said I do, but he was quite affectionate, and I was impressed. Hard getting through attitudes + cliques. Living in Marina del Ray, also pretty far from gay hub. Tony Constantine was his name. [yellow highlight] I brought him a drink + myself a CKC. [underline] So: Joint in hash oil 4 hits of Coke 3 Scotch +Soda 2 Coffee, Raluah + cream [yellow highlight] It was funny because I rarely drink much, and I hadn't want coke. 1:00 When the lights came on, I asked if Tony wanted to go to Probe, and found out he had to get his roomate. And they had a white Mustang convertible. I was feeling quite good now. [yellow highlight]

They dropped me at my car, and I started to lead them to Probe, but they overtook me, and went down the "No thru traffic" street. I was begging to think this was bizarre. [yellow highlight] And his friend was very negative on a lot of stuff, perhaps just posturing against me.

On arriving at probe, I offered to get Tony a drink, but no thanks and he didn't feel like dancing w/ me. So I had a good time dancing- 3 songs with Dick, and danced 1 song dully with Pat. When I went to find Tony, they were playing pinball, Tony badly losing. Pat + Dick said they were leaving so I showed them out. Pat said it was ok to bring Tony, or both, home. [yellow highlight]

But by the time I returned, they were dancing together, having a good time. Arms around each other, after dancing. [yellow highlight]

[cut off]:15 Eventually, Tony came over to say they were leaving. I wished him well, but my disappointment hopefully showed.

It wasn't a great loss, but I couldn't find anyone else. And some black queen kept trying to be nice to me, but I was truly sad.

3:30 Decided to leave, to get sleep. At Dick + Pat's. They're still up and I feel recluse, but I tell 'em about it after I get comfortable.

4:00 To bed, but I can't sleep, so I get up, and snort water which gives me a buzz + I have some good sex.

5:00 To bed, to rest

SUN, OCT 18 '87

10:45 Get up for cereal. Start writing this.

11:15 Dick leave sto get goceries, so Pat comes in and I get try the Gene Souza technique, but he's too hairy. But we have fun anway. Shower.

11:45 Write some more. Dick makes muffins. I looked for quote on MS, but no NASDAQ quotes. Compaq down 14! DOW down 108 points on Friday! More writing in here.

12:45 Judgments about last night. Sometimes you win on drugs, sometimes you lose. Last year I won big, at least as far as fun day goes: REDONDO. But there's been no long lasting value to that day, except wonderful memory. Last night was more of a typical LA night, very much feeling about LA as I did in 1985. Not much has changed, except Greg's Blue Dot is gone now. My favorite! I really don't need cocaine, or pot, but I did it here so as not to feel like I was excluding myself from them. I suppose if I lived here, I would feel the need for drugs, and other spiritual boosts. EVALUATION

1:00 Now the age-old question. What to do in LA on a Sunday, esp a cloudy one. At least I'm not as zonked as during trips in 1984 + 85. Less drugs. More sense.
