33 School St Boston,

Geo Penniman Esq Treasr Granite Railway Co.

Dear Sir,

I have been instructed to forward you a copy of a vote of the Trustees of Mount Auburn Cemetery, passed at a meeting of the Board . - which is as follows: -

"Voted that the Committee on Grounds be instructed by the Board to give notice to the contractors for the granite front of the new catacomb tombs in course of construction between Rosebay and Culvert Avenues, that this Corporation will not accept said granite front on account of imperfections in the stones, and for defective construction."

I am Resp.y yours, Austin J. Coolidge Secretary of Mount Aub. Cem.ly

33 School St. Boston,

Wm. B. Bacon Esq

Dear Sir,

It appears from a recent interment in Mr D.G. Bacon's lot in Mt Auburn, that your numbers upon the lot have not been made to correspond with those of your deeds, and as in the Catalogue of Proprietors. I have ascertained that the numbers have been cut upon the Stone; hence it is impracticable to attempt correction there.

The only course, therefore, left for you is to transfer your deed to your brother, & he the same to you. Unless you do this, some future interment will be the occasion of a mortifying blunder by opening a grave in the wrong lot.

I will attend to the matter for you at any time; but shall have to charge you for the record.

Yours truly

A.J. Coolidge Secretary.
