Saturday October 19th 1822 31 First part light air from the Eastward steer in N West middle part light winds and squals with A Large swell from all points Latter part light breezes at N N East saw a [brig?] saw no whale so ends Lat by obs 38-06 Long [sun and moon symbols] 45-00

Sunday October 20th 1822 First and middle part of these 24 hours light winds and squals of rain from the NE latter part strong winds and squaly at S East steer N by W saw nothing at 12 PM spoke a [brig?] from [???] bound to Liverpool 8 days out Lat by obs 37..40 Long by Lunar 46-20

Monday Octove 21st First part strong glaes and squals of rain at SSE head in to the westward latter part fresj winds and rugged at 4 PM saw several whales loaned the boats and chased but could not strike at 6 take in sail saw several whales Lat by obs 37..26 Long 45..50

Tuesday October 22nd

First part fresh winds at SSE steer in N [???] middle and latter part light airs and calm at 8 AM saw several whales put of struck and killed one at 1 PM took im along side and cut him in ends calm and cloudy Lat by obs 37-08..47

Wednesday October 23rd 1822 First part of these 24 hours light airs and calm from the westward middle part ligt winds and cloudy latter part light at SSW steer S East saw one whale chaised but could not [hitch?] him Lat by obs 37-01 Long at 5 OM 47-01 [smudges]

32 Tuesday October 24th 1822 All these 24 hours light winds and pleasant from the south employed in stowing down oil in the main hatch killed and out in A whale spoke the [???] [???] 7 whales Lat b obs 37..27 Long 46-42 [sun and moon symbols]

Friday October 25th 1822 First and middle part light airs and calm from the southward latter part light airs from the North saw one whale put of and chased in company with the [???] but could not strike him steer in W NW so ends this day Lat by obs 37-48 Long 46-40

Saturday October 26th 1822 First part fresh winds from teh Northward mid part fresh winds and squaly at west veer ship to the northward finished trying latter part fresh winds at west steered N Nw saw one whale employed in stowing down oil in teh main hole spoke the Brig General Scott 3 whales and 100 [Blls?] of sperm oil Lat by obs 37-28 Long 46-50

Sunday October 27th 1822 First part fresh winds from the west middle part Light winds and calm latter part fresh winds from the snorth chaised one whale but could not strike at 6 AM spoke the ship [???] 7 whales and 4 sperm so ends this day of our Lord Lat by obs 37-12 Long-46-40

Monday October 28th 1822 First part of these 24 hours fresh breezes from the northward middle part light winds and squals of rain latter part light winds and smokey struck and killed and sunk a whale 3 saw in sight and but a few whales Lat by DR 37..12 Long 46-40

Tuesday October 29th 1822 33 All these 24 hours light breezes and smokey weather from southward at 6 am saw one whale put of stuck and killed him at 8 took him along side and began to cut at 12 finished cutting and lighted the [???] Lat by obs 37-50 Long 46-30

Wednesday October 30th First part fresh breezes from the northward middle part fresh gales and squals of rain thunder and lightning at W SW put out the tryworks veered ship to N West latter part strong gales and large swells saw nothing so ends the day Lat by obs 38-09 Long 46-00

Thursday October 31st All these 24 hours strong gales and large swell from WS W to W NW at 6pm the weather moderates veer ship to SW and lighted the tryworks at 11 gale increases pout out the tryworks at 6 AM spoke a ship from [???] Believe it was the Atlas but could not under stand Lat by obs 38-40 Long-45-50

Friday November 1st 1822 First and middle part strong gales and large swell at W NW latter part more moderate at SW at 6 AM light the tryworks head N W by West set the fore sail saw nothing Lat by obs 39-04 Long.. 45-40

Saturday November 2nd 1822 First part of these 24 hours fresh gales and rugged at W SW latter part more moderate at SW finished laying set all sail steer W NW saw 2 sail by no whales employed in stowwing down oil in the main hatch Lat by obs 38-43 Long 45..50

34 Sunday November 3rd 1822 First part light breezes from the east middle part light winds and cloudy at the northward latter part fresh winds and squals of rain from the NW at 11 AM took the wind SW took in sail at 12 spoke the south America 7 whales saw several whales [sends?] rugged Lat by DR 38-30 Long 46-00

Monday November 4th 1822 A these 24 hours strong gales and rugged sea at SW steer in NW at 4 AM saw several whales took in sail head NW by W latter part saw nothing employed in mending sails head NW by W in company with the South America Lat by obs 37..27 Long at 8 AM 47-30

Tuesday November 5th 1822 First part fresh gales and squaly with a large swell at [???] middle and latter part light winds and fine weather from teh westward struck and killed and cut in A whale and got the larboard boat stone and lost the tow line spoke a ship from London 200 [Blls?] of oil 10 months out W Lat by obs 36-42 Long 4728

Wednesday Nov 6th All these 24 hours light winds and fine weather from the northward employed in trying at 4 PM saw whales put of and struck one took the line and went of to the [windward?] lost 3 harpoons 4 ships in sight and ten [thows?] and fin backs Lat by obs 36 56 Long at 7AM 47..55

Friday Nov 8th 1822 First part of these 24 hours fresh breezes at E NE head north at 6 PM took in sail and wave ship to SE middle and latter fresh gales and rugged t 8 Am veer ship to north saw 2 ships --- Lat by obs 36..22 Long 47..50 [sun and moon symbols]

Saturdayt Nov 9th 1822 All these 24 hours fresh gales and rugged at NE at 6 pm beered ship to SE saw one ship headed to the southward at sun set saw 2 whales Lat by obs 36-14 Long 47..40

Sunday Nov 10th First and middle part fresh winds from E NE latter part light breezes saw whales put off struck and killed and cut in one 2 ships in sight spoke an Enlish ship 200 Blls very [soon?]

Monday Nov 11th All tese 24 hours light winds and fine weather from teh east northward employed in trying saw one whale along side of the [???] of [???] [???] great many fin backs in sight --- Lat by obs 37-20 Long 47 20
