Monday June 24th 1822 All these 24 hours Light winds and pleasant from the N West at 1/2 past 4 make the islands of flores and [Carvo?] bearing ESE Dist 16 miles more ship and spoke the Neptune capt Brown came on board and stay until night at sun down took in sail and head S West at 12 AM [ware?] ship and stood in for the land at day Light make all sail at 12 PM flores home N W 15 miles saw 2 schooners and one brig to the South East of it saw no whale Lat by obs in 39"12

Tuesday June 25th 1822 Throughout this day light wind and calm of S East of flores 18 miles Distance at 4 PM spokt the schooner Hannah Eliza of Boston Capt right 80 [lbs?] of sperm oil so ends

Wednesday June 26th 1822 First part of thesee 24 hour light airs and calm at day light made all sail and steared NE by east at 12 PM the North part of Corvo bore West 20 Miles saw a sail under flores and one ahead Lat by obs 39"40

Thursday June 27th 1822 These 26 hours light winds and pleasant from the West stear NN East will all sail set a 4 PM pays a whaling ship stearing for Flores Lay to during the night under short sail Lat by obs 40"38 Long 31"47

Nothing but the cances of a whale employed in making sinnet so ends the day Lat by ohs 42-45 Long 33-28 Saturday June 29th 1822 All these 24 hours pleasant Breeses and fine weather at W S West lay to all sight at daylight make all sail and steam S E by East Lat by ohs 42-15 Long 33-28 Sunday June 30th 1822 All these 24 hours light winds and pleasant from S West steam from SE to S by East at night lay to head south saw several sail by ohs 41-40 Long 32-19 longitude by lunan at 8 pm 33-00 Monday July 1st 1822 First and middle part light winds and pleasant weather fron S West Last part fresh winds and squaly with some main steam from S E to S S East lay to during the sight at day light set double reefed top sails Lat by ohs 41-24 Long 31..20 Tuesday July 2nd 1822 First part fresh winds at S West steam. S S East takie in sail at [daylight] sight at day light makes sail and steam S SWest the wind shiftsin the night to N West last part fresh winds and rugged at 9 am saw a large sperm whale [Lawern?] away the [bouts?] and struck him with iron but it [drams?] before we could get another in and we lost him saw black fish Lat by ohs 40 22 Long 34-00

Friday July 5th “ 1822 First and middle part Light winds and pleasant S West at 3 P M Capt Poast came on board with some potatoes and onions for the presant use spoke the Jones and Commedore Perry Of new London no oil Last part fresh winds and rugged from S West at day Light make sail and stear S West in company with the New London ships at 9 A M tack ship to S East ends rugged and cloudy Lat by D R 39 - 00
