Wednesday Nov 13th “ 1822 First and middle part Light winds and calm from the Eastward Latter part fresh Breeses from S E by South employed in tying saw 6 ships a from [west?] Lat by obs 38 - - 08 Long 47 - - 00

Thursday Nov 14th “ 1822 First and middle part fresh Breeses at S East Latter part more moderate finished tying and stowed down 70 Blls of oil in the after hatch 4 sail in sight at 5 P M saw whales put off struck and killed one at 7 took him along side and put the cable on him saw several whales Lat by obs 37 – 57 Long 47 – 00

Friday Nov 15th and Saturday 16 Light winds and fine weather employed in cutting in our whale and tying saw several whales and chaised but could not struck 4 ships in sight Lat 38 - 08 Long 47 – 00

Sunday Nov 17th “ 1822 All these 24 hours light winds and calm from the South employed in stowing down oil in the after hatch at 6 PM put off struck and killed a whale at sun set took him along side and put the cable on spoke the [Ave Maria?] of New London [smith?] 1000 Blls of whale and 150 of sperm oil Lat by obs 38 – 07 Long 48 – 20

Tuesday Nov 19th All these 24 hours Light Breeses from the North ward employed in tying head S W saw one sail Lat by DR 38 – 25 Long 48 – 20

Wednesday Nov 20th 1822 First part fresh winds and squals of rain from N W at 5 PM [tab?] the wind at S S W middle part Light winds from the South and Eastward Latter part fresh Breeses at N N E and cloudy stear of East saw nothing stowed down 90 Blls of oil in the fore hatch Lat by obs 38 – 47 Long 48 – 00

Thursday Nov 21st 1822 First and middle part fresh Breeses from N W Latter part fresh Breeses from S W steared N N W employed in mending saw 3 whales and 4 ships the Martha Reed of New Bedford 17 wha Lat by obs 39 – 19 Long by Lunar 48 – 45

Friday Nov 22 1822 Throughout these 24 hours fresh Breeses and rugged with A Large swell in from the southward stear from North to West saw one whale and several fin backs at sun set spoke the Ann Maria [snyth?] 1200 of whale 150 of sperm head East Lat by obs 38 – 26 Long 48 – 45

Sunday Nov 24th 1822 First part fresh Breeses from the Southward stear off East with all sail set at 4 PM squals of rain thunder and Lightning took in all sail middle part the wind hauls to the westward and blows have Latter part strong gales and large swell at south head W and W S West under A clost reefed main top sail and stay sails saw nothing but ships so ends Lat by obs 38 22 Long - 48 – 10

Monday Nov 25th 1822 First and middle part strong gales and large swell from the southward Latter part fresh Breeses and squaly at S West sit single reefed top sails stear N East saw nothing employed in mending the stover boat Lat by obs 37 – 17 – Long – 46 - - 50

Tuesday Nov 26th 1822 First part fresh breeses and squaly at south mid and latter part Light winds and fine weather stear of East saw nothing employed in mending our [slerr?] boat and other duties Lat by obs 37 – 12 – Long 44 – 30

Thursday Nov 28th 1822 First part light winds from the Northward middle and latter part light winds and calm at 2 PM saw 2 whales put of atruck and killed them both sunk one and took the other along side for the night move ship twice to hook on but could not saw 2 sail to the southward of us Lat by obs 38-22 long 43-40

Friday Nov 29th First part fresh breeses from NN East at 10 PM [???] to a hand gale at 11 parted the [haucen?] and lost our [bug?] [stunt?] 15 [Blls?] gone middle part strong gales and cloudy at 8 AM the weather thick and rains at 9 the mind hauls to the westward and moderates ends clean and pleasant the wind at S West set all sail and steer to the eastward saw nothing Lat by obs 39-10 long-43-[???]

Saturday Nov 30th 1822 First part light winds and smoky weather from the westward steer off east saw nothing mid part fresh winds at SW latter part latter part strong gales at WSW at 12 tack to SS Wset 2 reefed top sails and courses Lat by obs 38-32 long-42-50

Sunday December 1st 1822 All these 24 hours strong winds from WSW to WS West at 10 AM set double refed top sails head south at 1 PM saw one whale and plenty of feed tok in sail still heading to the south Lat by obs 39-13 long 42-50

Tuesday Dec 3rd “ First part took the wind at N N E at 4 PM at 4 PM fresh Breeses took in sail at 8 strong winds and rain middle part the wind hauls to the Westward Latter part strong winds and large swell head S W saw nothing Lat by obs 40 – 05 Long 41 – 11

Wednesday Dec 4th “ 1822 All these 24 hours strong gales and squals of rain with A great swell from West to S S West at 1 AM move ship to W by North under A clos reefed main top sail and stay sails saw nothing Lat by obs 40 – 10 Long 41 - 00

Thursday December 5th First part strong gales and squals of rain from the South middle part the gale moderates Latter part Light winds at S E with A Large swell at South Set all sail stear in N W by W at 11 AM saw whales put off struck and killed and sank one struck and killed another at 2 PM took him along side and cut him in saw a plenty of whales Lat by obs 39 – 44 Long 41 - 10
