To the Hon Mayor & City Council of The City of Fort Worth

Gentlemen:

Your petitioner A. Penix would respectfully represent to your Hon. Body that he is the owner of the Lots Nos 1 & 2 in Blk 4 Kennedys Addition to the City of Fort Worth, That said real Estate was rendered on the unknown list for the year 1898, and valued at $3500, for said year which is greatly in excess of the real value of said real estate. Your petitioner would further represent that N. Lacroix has been looking after petitioner real estate and rendering the same for taxation and through said Lacroix failure to render said property for said year it was put on the unknown list at this high valuation and petitioner has just been informed of the true situation

The said real estate was rendered for the year 1897, at $2000.00 and for the year 1899. at $1800.00 which is a fair valuation of same.

Wherefore petitioner prays that the value of said property for the year 1898 be reduced by your Honorable body to a fair and reasonable value.

A. Phenix

"Fort Worth, Texas, 1st Aug 1901

" Hon Mayor and City Council "Gents

I hereby submit my monthly report for month ending 31st July 1901

" I can state with pleasure there is no epidemic existing at this time. The Pest House was closed on the 10th of July, rafter being thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. We have now one case of small pox with three exposures. The disease was contracted in Louisiana the patient only being a resident of the City a few days. They were quarantined and Vaccinated at once and no danger of an epidemic from that source.

"There is one matter which I think should be brought to your attention -viz- the Condition of the gutters were the sprinkling wagons get water there is ran overflow from wagon or leakage from Hydrants causing a pool
