Fort Worth Texas 2/ 18 03 Mr J.B.Hawley City Engineer Fort Worth Texas

I hereby make the following proposition concerning the extension of Ninth Street in said city

1st In consideration that the City of Fort [Worth?] releases all taxes penalties and costs against an undivided half of Lot No 13 Block A2 Daggitts Addition to Fort Worth for 1902 and all years prior there to and releases all back taxes [and] costs and penalties claimed against a one acre Block in the R. Briggs [survey] now owned by me which was heretofore part of the Fort Worth Ice Co property and in making said release cancells three tenths of the claim against the larger tract of which this was a part which 3/10 amounts to about $100.00. I agree to give the City of Fort Worth a strip off of the south side of said one acre Block twenty one feet wide north and south and extending through said block from east to west the distance being 209 feet for the use of said city as part of the extension of said Ninth Street.

2nd I further propose that if the city will obtain from Mrs Frost a strip of land adjoining the above strip on the south as wide as can be obtained without moving her house I will convey to the City whatever quantity

of land may be necessary in addition to the strip 21 feet wide above mentioned and the strip to be acquired from Mrs Frost to make said street 50 feet wide provided the same shall not require a strip more than 20 feet wide at and for the sum cash of $12.50 per lateral foot. That is if said strip shall be 20 feet wide said city shall pay me in cash $250.00 Therefore or in said proportion for a less quantity said street must be made at least 50 ft wide between my property and the Frost property. The conveyance I propose making of the strips of land will restrict the use of property to purposes of a street Respectfully Submitted J Y Hogsett

To the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Fort Worth. Gentlemen:

In view of the fact that J. Y. Hogsett has signified his willingness to sell to the city so much of his one acre of land just east of the place where [Nineth] Street crosses the Fort Worth & Denver and other railroad tracks, as may be necessary for the opening of [Nineth] Street east of said tracks, provided the city will procure from Mrs. Frost, the owner of the property adjoining the said Hogsett, such amount of land as may be taken from her property without material damage thereto.

And whereas the said Mrs. Frost has signified her unwillingness to sell to the city any portion of her said property.

Now therefore be it resolved that the city engineer be and is hereby instructed to procure a proposition in writing from the said Hogsett for the sale of the said land to the city for the purpose of opening said [Nineth] Street, and if the said proposition shall be satisfactory to the said engineer and the mayor, that thereupon they shall notify the city attorney to proceed at once to condemn so much of the property of the said Mrs. Frost as in their opinion may be taken with the least cost to the city for the purpose of opening the said [Nineth] Street, and that the said city engineer do report his action in the premises, together with such proposition as may be made by the said Hogsett, to the next meeting of this council. Very respectfully, TF Murray Alderman of the Third Ward.
