Dear Cynthis {Thomas] It was so nice seeing you at the dinner and believe me I never knew you were so pretty. You looked better than I ever saw you before. Of course you always look good to me but you really outdid yourself. Well when I was on my way over I had a slight pain in my right lung but didn't mind it really until Wed when I gasped for breath and had a high temp. The Dr tried [pennicillon?] for a few days and it didn't work so tried something else and it did it. Im alright now but you know Cynthia that I [wont?] be taken into a general hosp with this [dam?] habit and its not so good at home when you need oxygen etc. Well {Doctor} [OLeary?] came over and shook hands + Miss OKeefe was so sweet + friendly

Eleanore Hale thought it was the Mon before so hurried up there and Miss [March?] was on the switchboard and showed Eleanore a note that's in the front office saying I am not to be excepted into the hospital for any reason and not to call Miss OKeefe signed Miss OKeefe. I never went up there without making arrange ments and why do they have to show that to an outsider? Well deat how did {Doctor} react to that dinner? She looked so tired and as if she was fighting to stay up. Well Cynthia Im looking forward to some fishing next week as Bill is taking the second week of July Aug + Sept off for vacation. Wish you and family could come out with us some Sun. Does Chuck like to fish? Love to David + you all Mae

Darling so much to say to you I could fill the whole insides but I love you to much to bore you. Im completely happy and grateful to you. My bird and Bill were both glad to see me. Of course the bird showed in more but even Bill had a quiet self satisfied half smilt and from him thats a lot. He ran out for cream milk and steak + I are it all and now am contemplating ice cream + more coffee. My dear teacher hold me in your thoughts a little that I may beat this this time. Ill stay clean till Hill of beans [?] may spare me a few minutes. I'm jealous of Ann + Margaret. That nearness to you would save me but I don't make a very good diciple. I just love you darn it. As B4 Mae
