Dear Dr.

I'm afraid that I didn't have enough work done on that thing to show it to you. I've been sending material to Eleanor for typing and she did it at her noon time or evening at the W.B.Z. studio and when we could meet we went to the Press Club where they allowed us to use an office upstairs + typewriter. We went to dinner etc. and after a days work Eleanore is tired and as she has had six operations in her breast and one is completely removed and started on the other one so we really didn't have much time to work together. Now she is done at the studio and after a months rest after the last surgery she has taken a job for the government and hates it but stays (strictly from hunger) Last week the press club closed as the building is being torn down to make a garage there and Ive lost both places to use office + typewriter. Sat night I used Miss O'Keefe's typwriter and Friendly Visitors room. Its such a long trip from Lynn that I couldn't get there much so we must find someplace to use or buy a type writer to use at home and if we had this we could have had it put inot line so you could get it in a way to read it [along?]. Some of it is

done twice and its all there as she told me to send all scribbling [or?] starts + delete later. After I did all we could Sat. night I had no place to leave it as Mary Lee was leaving at 1030 for two days and I didn't want it left in the Deputies closet or in your office for everyone to look it over I know a little of the staff and wouldn't trust them. I called Cynthia and she was so sweet about it and came up in the pajama's to take it home. Eleanore drove me toward Boston and stopped for doughhuts and. I got home agyer 1 A.M. dead tired and had accomplished almost nothing. Well Dr. I dont want to impose on you and Im afraid I have nothing there any way but had a lot of fun and met some nice people while doing it so Ive lost nothing. Hope you really did rest while away but doubt it.

You did have a nice birthday day but I was late getting there and left early as Mrs. Blanchard took me as far as Brookline Vi Wellesley Hills. Its a long trip by buss but if I could see you Id travel twice as far.

Love as B.4 Mae Clark
