Dear Sir,
My attention has been called to the fact that the By-laws (page 28 Article XII.) are uniform in their provisions which require that all persons who perform work for Proprietors shall have a permit from Proprietor who so employs him.
I think it is the wish of our Trustees that provision shall be strictly carried out, and would notify now that I think a permit will be required of you for each lot for which you may have an order for care or other work for the coming season.
Several of the large stone-dealers have procured a general permit on giving the proper bonds; and it is possible that some such arrangement will be practicable in your case, accompanied with a return from you of a

John T. Bradlee, Esq. Prest.
Dear Sir,
The supply of Guides which have hitherto been kept on sale by the Gate Keeper is exhausted.
I think it very desireable to Mt. Auburn, that they should be kept on sale.
Accordingly I requested Mr. Safford to make enquiries as to the prospect of obtaining more and his letter and that of the owners of the "Guide" are enclosed.
I also enclose a copy of the latest "Guide" and four (4) old ones
Respectfully Yours C.W. Folsom Per E.T.K.
