Mrs E L Thompson New York

Dear Madam

Your note is received. I have looked into the matter and find that some myrtle was planted on top of the mound of the childs grave. An examination of the soil shows that it was not prepared to grow myrtle and even if it had been myrtle will not grow here on a raised mound We find that myrtle often dies with the best preparation and care and without that I would not expect it to live very long.-

To have the ground properly prepared and myrtle planted would cost $5-

Very respectfully J.W. Lovering Supt pr J.G.S.

Dear Sirs

The gardener reports that it will not be safe to move the shrub until October.

As the shrub is worth saving would it not be well to wait until that time
