Sorry it's been so long Grandma - things have been really hectic lately & when we get back from London we're really exhausted, very little correspondence of any kind has taken place in the last week or so. We've been doing a lot, but there isn't much to tell, mostly shopping and seeing art galleries, and that combination doesn't make for very interesting letters I'm sorry to say. We're both really tired & glad to be moving on (although standing completely still might be nice too) but very sorry to have to be leaving London.. too bad those two have to go together. Oh well, I'll be seeing Denise in a couple of days early [?????] more in body time are the some good friends I miss very much--might even get some sleep on the plane, you never know... There is another edition of the travelogue on its way to give you more details. Take care and I'll see you in 2 weeks. Love, Vickie

Hi Grandma! I may see you before you see this, but I thought I'd send along one last post card anyway, just so you know you hadn't been forgotten. I'm obviously in Chicago now, I really like the city itself, it isn't a culture hot-spot but the city is nice so it's o.k. The people I'm staying with are really great too (a friend from school/Cliveden and family) and I keep finding more people I know who live in the area so I'm really having a great time. Unfortunately the weather hasn't been great--it keeps raining.. real strange for a person from California but it apparently isn't all that unusual out here so I just go along with it, although it does put a damper on plans quite often. I guess thats the chance you take wherever you travel anywhere though, so you put up with it, but for a whole trip? Oh well, see you soon I LOVE YOU -Vickie

Hi Grandma! I know you didn't really expect to hear from me until later, but I was in London at the National Gallery today and I thought I'd at least send you a note so you'd know you hadn't been forgotten or anything. I can't believe I actually went into an Art Gallery by choice, I may learn and get some culture yet while I'm here. I also went to the Tower of London, its an old fort where many prisioners were kept and later killed for political reasons. They have all kinds of displays of armor and such, and the whole thing is just really incredible. After all that I saw a Sherlock Holmes play called Crucifer of Blood which was very good. Well, gotta go - take care of yourself, I LOVE YOU - Vickie
