-2817 more days for each Mule making 14 days ) & the 17 Apl - - 36 days ) Making 50 days up to this time The Mules are working at $1.00 pr week 6 days makes a week 0 Rain It has rained nearly all day Wind N. W. & quite cold looks like snow We have got some wood halled & it is verry exciptable George H. & Jack fastened the boxes in my Wagon Wheels & it does finely.

Sun 2 The morning is clear calm damp & muddy A breeze from N. W. My General health as been better the past week than the week before I have been putting the (Clark) Medicines on my neck 0 Self & sores verry much this week past I can see they are not quite so bad but the itching is verry troublesome & anoying almost as much as I can well bare at times. The Brandeth pills I have been taking every night has had the desired effect allways the next day. I take one every night I have been taking the pills a week today, they are I think of verry good service

Mon 3 The morning is clear mostly calm are from N. E. & quite cool ( 0 but no frost as we can see ) Our broken thigh Colt is still Cripple Colt) ( living but verry weak We help it up every day & feed it this is 31 days since it got hurt which was the 2 of Apl last Pegga's pigs) Some of Pegga's pigs are drooping looks bad wont eat we wet there bed with watter Cole oil & Sulphur They some of them is too fat I think that & the lise is what ails them

Crops ( Wm Hodge ) William Hodge was out in my woods Lott he came to the house set a while looked at my guns & my Smoke house & give me a box of Superior percussion caps & went on to find a big frog or J. Webster) & daughter) Sqirls &c &c James Webster & daughter came in the evening & stayed all night 0 moderate passage

Wed 5 The morning is mostly clear tolerable high Winds. S. W. & S. E. & S. & quite warm & blustery Circuit Cort) Hughs Judge) The Circuit Court is in Sission Commenced last Monday Hughs Rain & (presiding Judge Heavy storm & rain this evening with thunder Storm ) Monk (Not much rain no passage to day See entry 6)

Th 6 The morning is dark & cloudy after the heavy wind & rain yesThe storm) terday it blew down a greate many trees an old man & crippled W J Sanders) by the name of W. Sanders & a conniction of the Pillows & Johnsons came & stayed all night Seems to be a good deal palsied & had been drinking give him Camphor & No 6 several times this morning we had to stop giving it. I am trying to git him off back to Town if I can, tho he dont want to go William has taken him in the bugga A. M. Harrison from Lawrence came & stayed with us last night he has drank him self until he is nearly gone I have had no

-283Pills passage since Tuesday took a pill Tues night, Wed night, & 2 to 9 oclock to day 1 at dinner & 2 at supper Every one but Thomas & Jim also Fanna & children is gone to the shows they are at work I am nearly by myself ( Monk Monk ) commenced to feed his 2 Mules out of my Corn yesterday. Puss Puss ( $3.00 ) & children gate fees to the Show cost me $3.80 Lawson $1.25 Lawson ( $1.25 )

1869 ) The morning is clear & cold the Wind from the N. May ( Fri 7 ) Got a Can of Tar Cost $1.00 & the Hurdarion Seed cost $2.50 Tar $1.00 ( one bushel) We drenched a sick pig with Tar & put the crippled Colt in the Colt ) Orchard it is mending I think its broken thigh will git well Orched) if it does not git it broke over again. Took it out in the Pills evening & put it back in its stable. tak pills no passage

The morning is clear calm & quite cool Lawson shelled Corn & went to Mill William is quite unwell he took off his William ) unwell ) flannel took cold & it is going verry hard with him he Monk stayed home all day. Sun 9 Morning is clear calm & Spring like I have been putting on my ring worms on my neck & back the Clark linament every day Self the past week. I think if I can stand it another week It will scatterit cure it or probably drive it to some other part my body. My General health is about like it has been Verry costine

at times the lower part of my bowels are swelled so I have to take medicine to force a passage every few days The swelling I think is occasioned from the pelvis William ) William is still labouring under a bad cold about like he was yesterday. Jim ) $1.00 ) I let Jim T. have one dollar ot day ($1.00) to pay George P. Costive ) I tok a large dose of Sulphur at 9 oclock at night No passage

1869 ) The morning is clear calm & cool William cold is some little May ( Mon 10 ) better not mutch. William B. Gordon was here went on to Wm ( Cornersville took William's sorrel Mare with him to leave her Wm B Gordon) with a horse Georg ( Preston & ) George H. Preston Jack P. Richard & Jim P. is planting the Mirey ( Jack ) piece of Ground for me around George's house (See 31st March Richd ( Jim ) & 1st. April & 20 Apl) The boys finished the beding up & finished ( 1¼ days at) planting the next day before 11 oclock in the morning having $1.00 for ( beding & c ) worked a little over one day Say 1¼ days See 31 March)

& 1st & 20( April ) I wrote a letter to Martha Jane by Hamon & he leaves to night Martha Jane) N K Webster(for Watter Valley on the Cars. I had but a few minnits to Mississippi) write & had but little to say but I thought I would write & show the respect I feel for her & her family which I have done. Pills ( Tom Peelar) took Pills this morning verry costive Tom Peelar shod Bay blacksmith( Mare before I found shoes & nales

Pills 2 ) from the S. West. took 2 pills William William has been quite unwell of cold he has been in bend on to after 10 oclock got up & has rode his horse to the awn to 00 watter him The Pills & sulphur has mooved my bowels at last I have taken a caution of them before they done good The boy finished planing my patch of Corn about 11 oclock planting ( my Corn ) to day (around George's house) Lawson commenced to plow down See 10th ( Inst ) the beads in the old potatoe pathc to sow Grass. William is quite unwell

Wed 12 The morning is dark cloudy & raining a verry good rain It Rain ) has rained the most of the night last night William ( Sick ) William is quite unwell eat no breakfast bad cold lying in bend. Eat no dinner. Some better at night eat some supper. Wood We halled up wood Sulphur took Sulphur at bed time

1869 ( The morning is dark & cloudy Wind S. W. I think William is May ( Th 13 ) some better tho not much he came to the Table & tryed to eat William a little breakfast. The Corn that the boys planted for me last Jim Monday & Tuesday the hogs got in & rooted it nearly all up, & Jim is fixing the fence & replanting it over. Lawson is plowin where I purpose sowing Grass where I planted potatoes Rain last year. It has rained several showers through the day drizled & rained through the night
