1869 ) The morning is quite warm clear & calm My General health is Augt ( Sun 22 ) about like it has been for several weeks I have to keep my

Self bowels regulated by taking Brandith pills I take one about

every 24 or 36 hours & they have a verry Good effect. I

could not live if I did not do something of the kind This

extreme hot weather the braking out of my head & face with

heat & Ichiness has anoyed me a good deal I have bathed my

head in cold Watter every morning rubing it dry & putting

flour on it I have thought it has done some good I am rubing

my face & Jaws with Itch ointment once a day I have lived

entirely upon vegetables I have drank a cup of coffee (weak)

with a cold bisket crumbled in it which serves mostly for my

breakfast or supper. I have fleshed up a little --------------------------------------------- Mon 23 ( The morning is clear calm & extreamly warm last night was Circuit ) Cort ( excessively warm all night Our Crops in this neighborhood Sitting ) Hot days ( (of Corn) will not make but little Some fields not worth & nights ) Crops ( gathering It has rained none since the 6 & 7 Augt here and none
