Wm William is gone up on Fountain Creek dont expect to be back

E. D. Lord ) I wrote a letter to Mr. E. D. Lord Nashville to let me know ( if Mr. Lyons is there ) I got a load of Corn out of Caleb's XCaleb ) ( Corn ) field to feed the hogs with my 2 horse wagon. ( George H. got 8 3/4 lbs of Bacon (2 Joles, fine) at 15 Cents $1.75 ) that is 3/4 the price of bacon at .20 Cents pr lb. $1.75 Cts Jack Patton ) load of ( I got a load of Corn out of Jack's field for the purpose of Corn ) drying it to send to Mill for Meal My Wagon. Corn $1.50 ) hen set ( Jim went & bot for me 2 1/2 bushels of Corn at .60 Cents per bushel Eggs ) ( Cost $1.50 I paid for it ) hen set in coop ( -----------------------------------------------

William William did not come home last night.

Jim for me bot 3 bushels of Corn at .60 Cents per bushel I

I sent an order to Psrker Richd ( $5.00 ) Security for Richd for $5.00 for Bacon let Puss have $2.00 & Security ( Puss $2.00 ) Lorra $.50 let George H. $.90 let Andrew have $.75 & Charley Lorra .50 ( Andy .75 ) $1.25. I wento Town Saw Little Made no compromise found Wm Charley ( $1.25 ) in Town Got a letter from Noah telling me he had got Genl Town ( Noah ) Negley's certificate & filed it of my loyalty Got a letter Qr M G. ( U. S. ) from Qr M. G. U. S. saying my claim was not allowed. See Letter. -------------------------------------------- 1869 ) The morning is some warmer Clear & calm Septr ( Sun 12 ) William Got home last Night, he left home last Wednesday gon 4 Wm ( days & 3 nights, I dont know where.

My General health has been some better the last week than the

week before I went to Town it deprest me verry much I rested

badly last night.

Nashville No. 52 Summer Street next doore new theatre but Corn ) Caleb 1 ( getting better See Union & American Sept. 11. George H. halled Self 2 ) a load of Corn from Caleb field to feed my hogs ( on Saturday the

me 1 load ) divided his tops between him & me Richd took his lode to Town

I went to Nashville in the Cars. I saw Lyons he sent me to Nashville Majr Walker had a long interview with him & the next day until

the Cars left I got in the Cars & come home Wed. I eat my

dinner Tus at Rittenburger's $.50 I went to the Manshion

house eat no supper it Rained I got wet got a room dryed & Wed 15 my cloathes eat my breakfast paid $1.50 After learning all

I could I fear there is nothing can be done though Walkers Atto

will make a trial & if he dont succede he is not to charge me

any thing I came home in the Cars -------------------- I must pettion the Qr M. Genl to reopen the case get 10 or 12

Union men to sign the pettion send it on if they wont open the

case it is all done with. If it is opened I must get up the

proof, Sullaven Rankin Francis Hodge Bennet &c

Surringe While in Nashville I baught a surrenge $2.50 looks like a

good one -------------------------------------------

Town I went to Town Seen Mr. Bennet. The Negroes round about Mt.

Pleasant is doing verry bad burning robing (or trying to do W D Matthews ) Died ( so) Wm D. Matthews died about 11 oclock to day (paralized) ---------------------------------------------- Wed 22 The morning is a little cloudy calm & warm

Wm William got home last night from Websters.

My ( I went to Town found the pettion sent to me from Nashville by Government ) Claim ( Majr J. D. Walker to get the signature of the Loyal Citizens pettion ) of this County some 6 or 7 of them or as many as I can git

The pettion reads as follows -

We the undersigned Loyal Citizens of Maury County Tennessee
