Between the East gate and il Mâḳa'id on the north side of the avenue stands a ruined building of very irregular plan.

It was not very extensive and is much dilapidated - the walls are well built very heavy and faced with well dressed stone within and without - the feeling being of good concrete. At the western end of the structure is a room which preserves one half of an octagon - this had an open arch toward the west. It is not possible to tell if the opposite end ^ of the room ^ completed the octagon - the walls at this point are very much ruined but the construction here is extremely heavy as if to support some great supposed weight. In one of these masses of masonry is a large piece of earthen ware pipe 30cm. in diameter, in a perpendicular position as if to carry a large supply of water. The other rooms are of most irregular plan and small - some of the walls show clamp holes for marble revetment.
