77 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE And now the Council proceeds to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Moses Keezer,member for the 3rd ward and G L Manning is elected to fill said vacancy; and is also placed on the Street Committee Fire Committee and Cemetary Committee to fill the vacancies in said Committees caused by the resignation of said Moses Keezer. And now the Ordinance Committee submit Ordinance No 280, the same being entitiled as follows, to wit: "A Special Ordinance to provide for the construction of a sidewalk as follows, to wit: Commencing on Stewart Street at the Alley which runs through Block thirty five (35) thence along the north side of said Stewart Street to the West Side of Tenth Street, thence along the West side of siad Tenth Street to the North side Virginia Street to Eleventh Street in the City of Seattle, County of King and Territory of Washington" After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote viz: In favor of adoption, Thos Clancy, John Collins, M Densmore, W A Jennings, John Keenan and Chas McDonald. Against adoption none. And now the Ordinance Committee submits ORdinance No 281, the same being entitled as follows, to wit: " A special ordinance to provide for the construction of a sidewalk as follows, to wit: Commencing at the Center line of Eighth Street, thence along the north side of Pine Street to the west side of said of Ninth Street, thence along the west side of said Ninthe Street to the center line of Stewart Street in the City of Seattle, County of King, and territory of Washington" After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote to wit: In favor of adoption Thos Clancy, John Collins, M Densmore, Wm A Jennings John Keenan and Chas McDonald. Against adoption None.

Blanchard Co Wholesale Liquor 1 year June 12 - 1882 do Retail do 1 " June 12 - 1882 Trainey & Ackery do do 3 mos June 3 1882 The following claims having been duly audited by the council are ordered paid by warrants drawn on the funds and in the amount as follows, towit: City Fund Seattle Chronicle Printing No 82 $80.10 Cemetery Fund Narcisse Lebrachs Slashing No 1 $100.00 And now the Ordinance Committee submit Ordinance No 283, the same being entitled, "An Ordinance to provide for the levying and collecting of a special tax for the purpose of raising funds to pay for the construction of a sidewalk along the north side of Jackson Street from the west side of Eighth Street to the west side 9th Street, those crossing said Jackson Street to the south side thereof, and from there along the said south side of said Jackson Street to the west side of 12th Street, together with all necessary and lawful charges incident thereto" After due consideration said ordinance is adopted by the following vote, towit, In favor of adoption John Collins, M. Densmore, Wm. A. Jennings, Chas McDonald and G.L. Manning. Against adoption, none. And now the Ordinance Committee submit Ordinance No 284, the same being entitled, "An special ordinance to provide for the construction of a sidewalk as follows, towit: Commencing on Stewart Street at the alley which runs through block thirty-five(35), there along the north side of saod Stewart Street to the west side of Tenth Street, there along the west side of said Tenth Street to the north side of Virginia Street, there along the north side of said Virginia Street to the the north boundary line of the City of Seattle, in the County of King and Territory of Washington." 29 COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEATTLE Jun 14 1886 Councilman Lake submits a proposal of the Gutta Percha & Rubber Mfg Co for furnishing the City a new hose cart. On motion the matter is referred to the Committee on Fire & Water. The City Surveyor submits plans and specifications for Beach Road Bridge which are adopted and on motion the Clerk is directed to advertise for bids for the Construction of the same, said bid to be filed on or before 4 o'clock pm June 25th 1886 each of said bids to be accompanied by a certifired check for $1000. The mayor approved G W Hall a member of the Jusdiciary Committee in place of John Keenen absent from the City. Ordinances The City Attorney submits an ordinance entitled "An ordinance to locate and establish a Public Street extending from the intersection of Eighth & Plummer Streets to the intersection of Grant and Hinds Streets in the City of Seattle" which afterr due consideration is adopted by the following vote: In favor of said ordinance Calligan, Furth, Hall, Harrington Lake, McDonald and Young. Against none An ordinance is submitted by the City Attorney entitled "An ordinance to Vacate a portion of Tenth Street in Judkins Addition to the City of Seattle" which is passed by the following vote: In favor of the same Calligan, Furth, Hall, Harrington, Lake, McDonald and Young. Against none The Clerk submits an ordinance entitled "A special ordinance appropriating money to pay audited bills" which is adopted passed by the following vote: Ayes Calligan, Furth, Hall, Harrington, Lake, McDonald and Young. 164 JOURNAL OF THE PROCEEDINGS OF THE Mar 8 1887 the Front Street bulkhead be repaired by setting cedar posts and securing the same by iron rods running across the Street at an estimated expense of $724.40. On motion the report is adopted and the Street Commissioner directed to make the necessary repairs in accordance with the plans of teh Committee and the chairman of the Street Committee instructed to purchase the iron rods. Ordered that the Council do now adjourn W H Shoudy mayor attest W R Forrest clerk Mar 18 1887 Be it remembered that on this the 18th day of March 1887 the Common Council of the City of Seattle meets in its Council Chamber pursuant to law. The following officers are present to wit: Mayor W H Shoudy & Councilmen Coulter, Furth, Frink, Green, Hinckley, Lake, Russell and Reitze. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Whereupon the following proceedigns were had to wit:- Petitions etc Petitionof W H Hughes asking that certain taxes wrongly assessed to Maggie A Barker be refunded Referred to finance Committee. Petitionof H H Dearborn & Co for the extension of the Grant Street Plank Road. Referred to Street Committee Petition of C J Chilberg et al for a Box Drain on Tenth Street in Block 90 of C C Terry Addn Referred to Street Committee.
